Every damn time
Grr. Every time. Every damn time. (Heroes spoilers)
Every damn time Heroes makes Sylar interesting, or he tries to show some form of humanity, they hit the damn reset button, and suddenly he decides that he's actually an evil serial murderer with no soul and nothing can change that.
Forget his actually beginning to care for Elle - he spontaneously decides he's evil, so he kills her. Forget his relationship with his newly found parents (or at least, those who say they're his parents) - someone he has no reason to trust tells him they're lying, and he decides that he needs to become a serial murderer again.
Forget that he realized that he apparently is able to steal abilities without killing anybody - he likes killing enough that he starts killing people anyway!
Ye gods, he was actually becoming an interesting three dimensional character, trying to fight an evil darkness within him and working towards redemption, and in one reality he apparently even succeeded! But then the future changed, or something, so now he's just decided to be a flat boogeyman.
*beats head against the wall*
Dear god, Bryan Fuller had *better* make this show good enough to make losing Pushing Daisies worth it.
