I have returned

Well, I have decided to return to LJ, at least partially. Don't expect very many posts from me, I mostly just plan on reading your stuff and commenting, but I will occasionally share stuff I find interesting and/or amusing. Of course, that won't be very different from before, so hooray!

To begin, I actually had a really long dream I just feel the need to share. It starts with my skydiving in Ireland with a whole bunch of people, including some of my friends. The only one I actually recognize is Megan. We all safely get to the ground, and we are deciding who wants to go again. Megan asks if anyone wants to go skyboarding, and I say yes more because I am happy to hang out with Megan than anything else. Instead of going skydiving with a board on our feet like I imagined, we strap on some small parachutes that act more like sails that carry us upwards if we jump while running. Nobody else is interested, so the two of us start running down a narrow dirt path through a grassy overgrown field. Pretty soon we are jumping way into the air and doing flips and stuff before landing, all stuff that would actually be completely impossible with a parachute on.

Before long we came to some sort of recent ruins, all that is left is a set of concrete pads scattered around in the ground and a few concrete structures still standing. We stop to rest and explore here. We both try to figure out what used to be hear, because it was clearly fairly modern and was just sitting out in the middle of this field. Only one of the concrete pads would have been big enough to support a storage shed, the others were all too small. Eventually I find a small pillar about chest height with a knob set in to the top. The markings around the knob are tv stations, so we figure it must have been a tv antennae.

Megan and I then decide that we should go to Dublin, which is not too far away. Martha is supposed to be there, so maybe we will be able to meet her there. Of course I am okay with this, so we get ready to continue on our way. Suddenly I notice that just down the path that there are the letters CA standing about 20 feet tall across the path. I ask Megan why they are there, and she says it is an advertisement for a Canadian amusement park, because for some reason we are in Canada now. We go under the A to continue down the path, and on the other side we find ourselves on the edge of the city of Dublin, standing next to a stream that runs under a small bridge. We both stop to comment on how beautiful this stream is, which is clear and we can see that it is running on top of the bedrock, something that cannot be found in lower Michigan.

As we enter the city, Megan seems to know where she is going, so I follow her, hoping we will find Martha. Megan ends up leading me in to a building, and inside I find we are in a small church and a service is just beginning. Unfortunately, I can't understand anything, because everyone speaks French. I ask Megan if she understand what they are saying, but she just shrugs. Then I realize that they are actually speaking English, but with a thick French-Canadian accent, and so I can hardly understand what they are saying. One of the people gets up to a podium with a microphone to lead everyone in prayer. As he is doing this, he also lights a couple of candles next to the podium. The lighter he is using catches the microphone on fire, and I can almost understand him adding something in his prayer that he hopes God forgives him for lighting the podium on fire. Everyone laughs, and the dream ends just like that.

I told you it was long, and also pretty weird.
