(no subject)
Just so you all know, I am still here. I try to read LJ every day, even though I haven't posted in about 6 months. I just rarely have anything to post, so I mostly use facebook if I simply want to share a funny video or something. However when I feel inspired to make a real post the fb note system is not really what I want. So here goes.
Working third shift is not my favorite. I have been working for my dad doing electrical work, and that involves working at various construction sites. Currently I am doing service work at the Steelcase pyramid building, fixing lights. I have to work 9pm to 6am so that we don't bother people working there. Its really not bad, I sleep well enough during the weekdays. It is just difficult during the weekends, and also when I want to see friends. Most people do stuff at night and in the evening, and that is when I need to leave for work. And so I rarely get to hang out with cool people like Rob and Mary. And Martha is off in Indiana, so I would say the hardest part is simply not hanging out with people ever. I need to fix that by going over to Aquinas today. I am really looking forward to seeing Martha this weekend. I miss her a lot.
Although, as much as I dislike working third shift, it is better than no job at all. And that may be the case in a couple of weeks. I can only work for my dad as long as there are people that need help, and work is slowing down at Van Haren Electric. I am not sure what will happen in a couple of weeks, and I am really not sure how I feel about it either. I will certainly be happy to get back to a normal sleep schedule and social life, and I have saved up a bit of money already, but I would really like to have a source of income at least for the rest of the summer. We will see what happens.
