It had to take place in a specific region and time period and include details to show things like the weather, climate, landscape, religion, and/or dialect of that region and time period.

Mmmm sounds too specific to be that creative to me. :) I always found stories difficult when I was being told what to write.

I find it easier when I'm being told what to write, because there is less for me to come up with - creativity for me is HARD.

And by "specific region and time period" I meant that it could be any region and time period as long as it's consistent. For instance, I couldn't combine the climate of, say, Oregon with the society of, uh, Kansas (unless those two states happen to have nearly the same climate - I'm too lazy to go look it up). That's one of the reasons I thought this would be hard.

Ahh I see, interesting. I think once you get to your teens you should try and be consistant and accurate in your writing anyway.
