I'm still not officially off my hiatus until the pandemic is over, but I need to vent a bit

Are we at the point yet where I can say that I don't want social distancing to go on forever, WITHOUT some of you lecturing me about it and telling me that I'm a horrible person for my opinion

Yeah, I'm declaring myself to be on hiatus until the pandemic is over. See my previous entry for more.

While I haven't been directly impacted by the pandemic much (I'm still going to work as normal for instance), the fact that they've had to cancel the entire world for over a month just to stop the coronavirus is slowly driving me insane. The fact that people are being MEAN to those who want social distancing to end eventually is just making it worse. I thought that I wasn't one to get angry easily (at least not in the past few years), yet I keep finding myself getting really, really, REALLY frustrated whenever anyone assumes based on my recent posts that I don't care about others' safety at all - or worse, that they actually want social distancing to go on forever

You're an awesome person. Social distancing does suck. Of course it's needed right now. I think though if everyone continues to wash their hands, stay home if sick, ect...then we won't need social distancing.

That's what I think too, but I'm afraid that social distancing is going to end up being required forever even after it's no longer needed. Believe it or not, there's people who actually want it to be that way. :O

I haven't seen anyone lecturing you or telling you that you are horrible. It is okay to have an opinion. You are not a bad person for not liking it and not wanting it to go on forever. No one likes it or wants it.

Well, I hate it that these folks are upsetting you like this. Ignore them, hon. I know it's hard, but try harder. Why would anyone get ugly about you wanting this to end? It's not like you're wishing some death sentence... you just want things to go back to normal. Gosh, ignore them, Lovey. Please. ♥

Apparently if I say that I don't like social distancing, people assume I mean I want it to end now while it's still unsafe. (Which, since I KNOW I cannot function in a world where everything has suddenly changed, I DO want things to go back to normal as soon as they can, but I understand that that will probably be another month away. Even though I don't think I can live that long outside my comfort zone.)
