Hmm, that one is kind of hard to explain, and I do hate to pull the, ÿou'll understand when you're older," line. But it really is difficult at your age to understand how odd it feels to realize that you have been having adult conversations with someone who is young enough to be your offspring. When this happens to you (many years from now), suddenly you will feel older than Methuselah. And when those conversations have included topics like sexual fetishes, it is stranger yet.
That said, it isn't as though eepiness is going to stop me. I have always been more about personalities and minds than about age brackets, it is just a bit disconcerting to find those qualities in kids half my age, who I seem to recall being, you know, kids. :P
Re: Being too hard on yourself: Bear in mind that you are a lot more aware of your mistakes than you are of other people's. While you may see other people make one or two mistakes where your paths cross, you do not see everything in their lives, as you do your own. And most good natured people notice their own errors more than they notice others' anyway, so it is only natural that you are more focused on your own. But I would hate to see it get to a point where it interfered with your ability to be happy, that's no fun at all.

I understand. I do think it's surprising that you actually thought I was older than 18, though - you have referred to me as "kiddo" in a past comment, which made me assume that you thought I was younger than 18.
Besides, at least you've still been talking to a legal adult about fetishes, rather than talking to a young kid about them. I don't know how much less eepy that makes it, though - I just thought I'd at least mention it.

Thanks! I'm feeling better at the moment, at least :)

I was a bit surprised when my older sister pathvain_aelien still called me "kiddo" after my 18th birthday, but I don't mind it at all. This, incidentally, is why I figured you thought my age was no more than 18 rather than specifically less than it - and now that this misunderstanding has happened, I know not to expect people to know (or, after I turn 19, be wrong about) my age just because they say "kiddo" or something. :)
EDIT: I just noticed that in my previous comment, I actually did say that I figured you thought I was younger than 18, but just for the record, I indeed meant "18 or younger".
