Their new living room is a mass of boxes, bags and other assorted odds and ends. It's as well they got the furniture in first, because there's even stuff on the couch and end tables. There's a narrow path through the room from the doorway, and an even narrower one to the television.

Sam is trying to work out what's in the boxes that have been placed in the kitchen. Even though she’s thankful for their help, she’s discovered that each member of SG-1 labels differently; Daniel made marks to indicate THIS WAY UP and FRAGILE, Vala went for VALUABLE and NOT VALUABLE, while Cameron simply indicated each room and whether the contents belonged to Sam or Jack. Right now, Sam is working on a box labeled in Teal'c's simple handwriting. SIX CHINA PLATES, THREE CHINA TEAPLATES, ONE CUP (HANDLE MISSING), ONE DOZEN PLASTIC PLATES, O'NEILL the box informs her. She's not quite sure how the broken cup ended up in a box of plates, or why it was even kept, and thinks Jack might be a secret hoarder who can't keep things in the right place. That's definitely going to wreak havoc with her neat freak tendencies.

She looks through the archway that divides the living room and kitchen, in an attempt to locate her fiancé. His last words to her were that he planned on sorting out the living room, but it doesn't look like he's made much of a dent in that plan. She can't immediately see him, so she reluctantly puts down the broken cup -which is an ordinary off-white plain teacup, nothing special - and goes in search of him.

"Jack?"

"Mmmph?"

The sound comes from the direction of the entertainment unit, so Sam gingerly picks her way through their possessions until she comes to the narrow path. "Jack, what are you doing?"

He stands up with a groan from behind the unit. "Trying to get this thing tuned in," he answers, indicating the television.

"Why?" She notices that not only is the television in place, but he's also got out the VCR/DVD player and hooked up the speakers.

"So we can watch it," he tells her, and she can tell he thinks the reason should be obvious.

"Jack, leave it," she says. "The cable company will be here tomorrow. They'll get it all connected.”

"Can't wait for tomorrow," he replies, as he ducks behind the entertainment unit again. "I need it in ten minutes." He re-emerges and peers at the fuzzy screen. "Damn it, all I want is Fox!"

Fox? Strangely, the only Fox Sam can think of is Fox Mulder from The X-Files. She knows, though, that this isn't what Jack means. It doesn't stop her from being completely confused.

She looks back to the kitchen, where cupboard doors are open to show half-filled shelves and empty boxes are piled up at the back door, and then looks back at the mess in the living room. It seems Jack has some interesting priorities. She thinks briefly about making him sleep in this mess before realizing it would be a waste of time; he's slept in far worse places. But damn it, she'd really appreciate his help.

Thinking of the bed reminds Sam that she needs to make sure the bedroom is clear enough for her to sleep in, especially since she has a briefing at oh-eight-hundred tomorrow. She retraces her route back to the kitchen, and ensures she can easily locate everything she'll need for breakfast. She doesn't want to be scrambling to find the coffee maker when she's still half asleep and caffeine-deprived in the morning.

"Gotcha!" The cry of victory is accompanied by muted voices from the television. "Just in time, too," Jack adds, before he starts laughing at something that Sam just doesn't want to know.

She makes her way out of the kitchen to the hallway, accidentally-on-purpose kicking a box that Teal'c has labeled DVDS - THE SIMPSONS - ALL SEASONS. She's not going to get any help from Jack for at least the next half hour. Therefore, she'll see to the bedroom herself.

It'll serve him right if she makes the bed with the pink floral comforter set given to her by a well-meaning aunt a number of years ago. It's not Sam's favorite set of bed linens so she doesn't tend to use it much, but Jack doesn't need to know that.

The signature shout of "D'Oh!" echoes up the stair well after her. Yes, the pink floral comforter set will do extremely well. And maybe she'll hang the matching curtains.
