Author’s note: sorry for the grammatical errors. My beta reader is not available as of the moment. I’m just excited to post this. This is for my friend Tin. I've written this even before her birthday last July 29
That day Sho picked her up from her work place after office hours. He was all smiles when he saw her. She was shocked when he saw him there standing, waving at her. She ran onto him and wrapped her arms around him. She automatically reached for his lips, never minding that they were kissing in public.
Sho was returning the kisses she was giving him, and before the kisses deepen, Tin pulled away.
She didn’t know that he would be there. The other he told her that he’ll be busy this week. He was readying himself for the next film he’ll be doing in the coming month.
“You always surprise me, ne?” Tin smiled at Sho. She pinched his cheeks and the caster can’t contain the reddening of his cheeks.
Sho couldn’t stare straight at her eyes. He scratched his head.
“Sho-chan, I never thought that you can be cute as that.” Tin said in amusement. She knew it was his first kiss in public.
Sho blushed even more. “Anou…that was my first kiss, you know…in public, I mean and with my girlfriend.”
Tin giggled. “I know.” She winked at him.
They’ve been dating for over a year now and everything’s going on smoothly between them. Ah, she couldn’t believe that someone like Sakurai Sho, a famous idol and caster would date someone like her, who happened to be just a commoner. She felt like Cinderella.
Sho held her hand and their fingers clasped together. They started to walk heading to his car.
“Where are you taking me?” she asked him when they got into his car.
“You’ll know.” He smiled knowingly. He started the car engine and drive.

Sho took Tin to a restaurant in Omotesando Hills. As soon as they entered the restaurant, the usher guided their way to their reserved table.
“Do you like the place, Tin-chan?” he asked his girlfriend.
Tin nodded. “Sou desu ne.” she smiled sweetly at him. The restaurant has a very cozy ambience.
“I’ve actually made a reservation for this day for your birthday.”
Tin patted her forehead. “How could I forget that it’s my birthday today?”
Sho-chan laughed that cute laugh he was so known for. “You’ve been working too much that you forgot that it’s your birthday today.”
The waiter took their orders and they started to eat. She enjoyed the food. Not just because the food was umai and all, it’s because she had Sho with him on her birthday. She knew that her boyfriend was a very busy person but he took his day off to spend time with her.
“Waiter!” Sho called out to the waiter.
The waiter walked towards Sho and her boyfriend whispered something to him.
She was clueless.
She eyed at Sho questioningly.
Sho just smiled at her gorgeously.
Her eyes twinkled. Her senses would react uncontrollably whenever he smiled at her like that. Her heart seemed to burst out of her chest.
Okay. Whatever it is he was up to, I’ll let him be.
After a few minutes the waiter brought out a small cake and he rested it on their table. It said “happy birthday” and with red candles around it.
“Sho-chan…”
“Otanjoubi Omedetto, Tin-chan.” He gave her a broad smile. “You should eat that all.” There was a mysterious gleam in his eyes.
“You mean I’m the only one to eat this?”
Sho nodded.
“Do I look like a glutton to you, Sakurai Sho?” she said glaring at him.
He shook his head. “Iie…that cake is made especially for you. I… I told the head chef of this restaurant to bake that cake for you. It’s your birthday isn’t it? You should have cake for your birthday.”
Tin sighed and resigned from protest. Her boyfriend made all this effort to make her happy on her birthday. She should be grateful.
She grabbed her knife and fork, and then started to eat the cake. Sho was observing her with delight in his eyes while she eats. She was almost done when she bit something hard inside her mouth.
She took it out with her free hand and stared at it. It was a white gold ring with diamonds encrusted around it. “Ne, Sho-chan this looks weird.”
“Nani?”
“The chef must have accidentally misplaced his ring on my cake.” Tin-chan was perplexed.
Sho coughed. “It’s not an accident, Tin-chan.”
“Nani?”
He took the ring from her, wiped it with napkin. “This ring is for you.” Sho’s eyes were fixed on her.
“Eh?!” Tin exclaimed in disbelief. Mouth left hanging.
“I… I want to ask you a question Tin-chan…”
She gulped. She was dumbfounded.
“Ne, Tin-chan, I enjoy every single day with you… I even picture myself growing old with you,” he took her hand and gently squeezed it. “Tin-chan will you become wife and be the future Mrs. Sakurai Sho?” he asked her earnestly.
She wasn’t anticipating that this day would come. They were only dating for one year and yet… he was proposing marriage already. She was crazy about him but this was too sudden. Tears started to flow freely on her cheeks. What a surprise proposal on her birthday!
Sho wiped her tears with the back of his hand. “You don’t want to get married to me?” Sho asked dejectedly.
She shook her head. “It’s not that baka!”
“Then why are you crying?”
“I’m crying because… Are you sure you want me to be your wife?” Her heart was filled with unexplainable emotions.
He stood up and knelt on the floor facing her. “I’ll repeat my question; will you be the future Mrs. Sakurai Sho?” the people on the restaurant were looking at them but Sho didn’t care. He only cared about her.
“What do you think?”
“It seems like you don’t want to spend the rest of your life with me.” Sho said feeling hurt. His lips protrude.
She pulled his hair and kissed his cheek. “I’m just playing hard to get, Sho-chan,” she giggled. “Put that ring on my finger now!” she commanded.
“As you wish, Lady Sakurai,” he winked at her, and then he kissed her hand and slipped the engagement ring on her finger.
It fitted perfectly.
“Daisuki desu, Tin-chan.”
