Day 1: Complete
Despite the fact it was 90 today, and none of my classes had A/C, I have successfully completed my first day of college!!
I had Math, Chinese and HHS (basically a overrated health class) today.
My Chinese teacher is pretty awesome. He sent us links to his favorite music download website and encouraged us to download the songs and watch Chinese dramas (umm...check?). I was checking out some of the songs and a lot of them are older folk songs. It's pretty awesome. I feel like I should be marching in place or something to them. He has this really awesome sense of humor, but I think I'm the only one in class who laughs at his jokes....
He played us a movie glorifying China, and it was pretty hilarious. Apparently, China "enriches the lives and culture of Korea, Japan, and America." Now I like China just as much as the next person, but I'm not sure how I feel about this "enrichment" business.
Math was... math. I'm just going to leave that there.
HHS was bad. I forgot my batteries for the clicker thingy-ma-bob and it didn't work like it was supposed to. On the plus side, this guy that I've fallen in love with on campus (let's call him Black Lanyard) was sitting in front of me. It was great. I also had a nice conversation with a guy from Dublin (Bay Area, California. Not Ireland). We talked about surfing, and how nice the Bay is. Pretty typical California kid conversation.
Tomorrow I have to get up early (and it's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow too) and go to the other side of campus for GEO 105. It looks like a really awesome class, and we don't have any recitations this week which is even better.
I also started my UW transfer app the other day. I feel kind of silly applying for a transfer so soon, but I just really get the feeling that I belong in UW and that I would be more successful there as well. I'm still stressing about paying for the out of state fees. OSU is only costing me around $6000 out of pocket (that doesn't count the loans) and I still think that is a bit too much. I've been messing around on fastweb, but that isn't really getting me anywhere. Scholarships are kind of ridiculous to me. I wish that I could just get the money miraculously.
I was supposed to go running today, but my roommate hasn't gotten off skype for like the last hour, so I can't change in our room, and she said that she wanted to go to. I guess I'll just give up on that.
