Singles much?
Well i don't know if you will like or agree to this, but i need my place to be free and let go what i think.
As far as i know some people have been complained about Love Rainbow, Dear Snow and now Hatenai Sora singles.
Some might be worried about over-exposure in Japan, well, the only ones who will follow them blindy in every show will be Arashi fans, people who aren't interested on them might watch the new drama because they like this or that actor/actress and/or the story is interesting, will see Nino acting awesomely, will see that Arashi is singing the theme drama, will think "ah..well..maybe johnny's aren't that bad" and will buy the single.
Some days ago i was chatting with some japanese guy on twitter since he likes Spain and i like Japan, so he knows i usually spazz over a lot Arashi there, and he tweeted "i didnt think someone like you could be interested in johnnys, thought spanish do like more macho guys", even though it was in japanese i could understand it and i replied, "sorry but i don't like Johnny's, i only like Arashi, they're funny and are good guys" so he tweeted back and said "Oh if it's just Arashi I can understand! They are pretty interesting and feels like wanting to hang out with them caz their relationship seems very good", i was so proud for being an Arashi fan, like "yay! u did it my boys!", as you might or might not know, being a Johnny's in Japan makes it easier to get this or that job (sometimes) but also is a big burden as kinda a social "suicide", since many people will look down on them.
As they are not releasing singles just because they want,but because they have projects and that means bringing money to JE, some of you might think JE is quite greedy, well..i cant disagree 100% with you but i cant agree either. JE needs money since really a lot of families are depending on them, also have to pay their johnnys even those who aren't doing anything right now, or not things that bring money, also SMAP just cancelling their con in Shanghai again, and it was quite close to the day of the concert so it was a big big loss, also all the goods were done already...the venue was quite big, it was booked already, flights, hotels, people who were working there for that...now that is wasting money without an income.
Some think is too much caz they cant buy anymore, too broke. Well, you're not more fan because you buy just a every little thing about them. I didnt buy Believe, Monster,Troublemaker, ...and some more because i was broke but the single sold so good anyways. I bought Dear Snow and Love Rainbow though, and planning to get Hatenai Sora this weekend.
If you're worried about their health, well...life is not easy. Nino was already hospitalised while doing Iza,Now tour and i think was Minami-kun no Koibito drama, doing filming and concerts during the day and staying at night at hospital, even though it was like this, he was doing his best in Iza,Now concerts, and Fukada Kyoko just said in last Himitsu that Nino was all laughing and smiling (and looking like "ah this i knew it" look) during the filming. When they were less popular they had quite big issues, like when Sho was so skinny in Yamada Taro drama that we all kept looking carefully at him and praying that he won't faint. Same with Ohchan in Maou. So health problems always come when you're working even if you're not too popular or busy. Truth is I dont like Nino doing drama with concerts and also movie promotion, since he doesnt care for him a bit, doesnt eat properly and loves his DS kinda quite much so doesnt get much sleep, but well the tan look makes him look less sick ^^; With this i dont mean im not worried about them.
Another thing is people asking for double a-side instead of this number of singles. Well...one thing because idols like Arashi were so looked down upon (besides being Johnnys xD), is the numerous editions of singles/albums, etc... these groups have been releasing. So thinking about it for a bit, for the past 2 years, they got number 1 in yearly ranking right?, but think of it a bit, both years Believe and Truth were double-a-side singles, so people could look down upon on them and said "well...you're kind of adding up the sales of 2 singles",also One Love even though was a LE and RE weeks later there was this HYDF special edition with some minutes of Domyouji's words plus a special remix of HYD series songs (if im not wrong) well..that counted as One Love sales of course and that make One Love to reach 500K.
So, now with groups like AKB, who are releasing thousands of editions with sneaky events and ballots and such to increase sales, i think releasing singles with 1 LE is quite fair play, after this you can't blame them on cheating at all. Also, doing this they finally will get the total sales award, which is new for Arashi <3.
One more thing, big artist who also was releasing a lot when she was uber popular was Ayumi Hamasaki, in 1999 and in 2000 released 7 singles each year, and in 2001 she released 6. Also this is not first time for Johnny's either, in 1986 group Shibugakitai released 6 singles as well.
Oh and about recording the song and the pv, well that is kinda 2 full days for them, now that we dont have Utaban, rarely have HeyHeyHey and some other music shows, so we only have Music Station, which means they dont need to spend days to promote a song. And well now we have cheap and boring PVs that i dont bother to watch more than once (like monster and troublemaker though) but the making of are cute as hell.

ps. idol life (as bussiness life) is not uber long sometimes, so it doesnt mind if you take it easy or not,sometimes chances will be gone if you dont do things properly. They've been taking it "too easy" kinda until their 9-10th anniversary, in the shadows, so let them shine for a couple of years
