Chapter 9:

There are people who are meant to meet.
Wherever they are or wherever they go, one day they will meet.
It's called destiny.

Jun opened his eyes when he heard the horses neighing. Raising the top of his body, he realized Kazu and him were laid in an empty box, straw covering their naked bodies. Two shades of red grew on his cheeks when he remembered he had lost his virginity with Nino the previous night in an amazing way. He remembered every moan, every word both had whispered to each other while moving with despair to find their release.

"Hello..." Nino mumbled next to him with sleepy eyes.

"We fell asleep here," Jun chuckled.

"My body aches like hell," Nino whined.

"Mine too. I would kill for a shower."

"And me for more sleep. Come on." Nino pulled Jun against him to keep the warmth of their bodies and both fell quickly asleep again.

"As if Sho wouldn't be enough angry at me, you two had to do that." A voice made them jump several minutes later. The two boys jumped and blushed deeply when they saw Aiba against the box's door.

"We are 17. We aren't babies," Nino replied.

"And Jun is under my responsibility. Hurry up, the horses won't feed themselves."

"He is kidding," Nino mumbled when Jun's eyes widened.

"We could help him to do it."

"It's 9 am. Masaki fed them a long time ago. He was only teasing us."

"Sho!" Jun gasped, getting up quickly, not noticing Nino staring at his naked body with a blush and hungry look.

"We need a shower first," Nino stated, giving him his clothes. Jun blushed when he saw the mess on their stomachs, the sign of their hot activities of the night. Nino took his hand and both joined the house where they found Ohno dozing off above his coffee. "Still such a lazy bear. He will always sleep anywhere," Nino sighed.

"Don't use all the hot water you two." Ohno made them jump with his sleepy voice.

"Oi! You weren't really sleeping!"

"Who said I can't do more than one thing at the same time?" Ohno winked.

"So weird," Nino muttered before the two lovers ended in the bathroom under the hot water. Again, their bodies reacted naturally and their lips met happily. The two boys were ready to continue their activities of the night.

When they left the shower an hour later after using all the hot water much to Ohno's despair, Jun and Nino found Aiba in the living room set to leave the house.

"Ready?"

"Hun."

"I'll stay here to take care of the horses with Oh-chan or knowing him, he will burn down the farm while cooking," Nino smiled.

"Thank you, Kazu." Aiba grabbed a bag and left the house, followed by Jun who kissed his boyfriend quickly.

The two friends entered the hospital and found Sho's doctor leaving his bedroom.

"How is he sensei?"

"He woke up an hour ago and is a bit lost."

"Did you tell him about his handicap?" Aiba asked.

"No. I wanted to let him some time to wake up and to see you. I prefer you to be here to support him when I'll tell him."

"We will stay as long as possible."

"Perfect. I'll come back in an hour." The doctor smiled and walked away to let them enter the bedroom.

"Sho-chan?" Aiba called softly, making Sho turn his head toward them.

"Jun!"

"Nii-chan!" Jun rushed toward his brother and hugged him carefully not to hurt him.

"You talk?" Sho's eyes widened.

"A lot happened while you were asleep," Jun grinned.

"How do you feel?" Aiba asked, taking a chair to sit next to the bed.

"My body and head hurt like hell," Sho grimaced.

"You had a rough fall. It's normal."

"What happened? I don't remember."

"We fought and it scared Spirit, so he jumped the barrier. He galloped on the road and panicked when a car charged you. I told you to jump from his back, but you didn't listen to me and managed to make him move aside. He threw you from its back."

"Is he okay?"

"Yes. Scared, but he is physically okay. I'm so sorry, Sho. It's my fault." Aiba lowered his head.

"It's not. Everybody fights, but I was too stupid and chose to do it while riding Spirit."

"You shouldn't have ridden him. It was dangerous."

"No, not more than with another horse," Sho chuckled.

"I haven't been fully honest with you, Sho," Aiba whispered.

"What do you mean?" Sho frowned.

"I... I didn't find Spirit in a meadow."

"Eh?"

"Look at that." Aiba took a picture from his pocket and held it out to Sho.

"It's Spirit..."

"Yes and the man riding him is Sayuki."

"Sayuki?"

"My dead boyfriend."

"What?!"

"Spirit was his horse and I took this picture during a competition."

"Wait... You said Sayuki died in a competition because his horse had crashed in an obstacle and had crushed him."

"I lied. Sayuki didn't die because of equitation. In fact, I killed him."

"What?!" Sho gasped.

"We were fighting at my house because I wanted him to divorce his wife, but he wanted some time to warn his children softly. I remember as if it was yesterday," Aiba explained, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Masaki, let me have some time, please." Sayuki implored as Aiba was leaving the stables angrily, the rain starting to fall hard.

"No! It's been two years and I don't want you to hide me anymore! I feel like your dirty little secret. I won't stay your lover while you go back everyday to your wife in her bed!" Aiba cried.

"I swear I'll tell her, but the children have to be the priority."

"Then we have to stop," Aiba whispered.

"You can't be serious," Sayuki gasped.

"I am. If you want to put your children as your priority, don't leave her. I understand, but I won't keep dating you. I can't suffer like that."

"But I love you." Sayuki grabbed his hand but Aiba pushed it away.

"No. If you loved me, you would have left her two years ago."

"I have prepared the papers for the divorce!" Sayuki yelled, making Aiba freeze.

"What?"

"I will prepare the children first and after, I'll make her sign it," Sayuki explained, hugging Aiba from behind.

"How can I trust you?"

"Look at me." Sayuki made Aiba turn and stroked his cheek. "I love you, Masaki and staying with her is very hard for me, but I love my children and I can't hurt them like that." Aiba closed his eyes, inhaling deeply.

"You will hurt them anyway if you leave her."

"I know, but I just need some time."

"How long?"

"One year would be enough and..."

"One year?!!!" Aiba gasped.

"To prepare them and..."

"Liar!" Aiba cried and whistled before climbing on Ghost's back.

"MASAKI!!!" Sayuki screamed.

"Don't ever come back here again!" Aiba yelled before making his horse gallop. The young man cried, pushing his horse to run faster when he heard another horse behind them.

"Masaki!!!"

"Leave me alone!!" Aiba yelled, reaching the road where there weren't any cars because of the rough rain.

"Masaki, it's dangerous. Let's talk at home!" Sayuki implored as Spirit almost reached Aiba.

"No!!" Aiba cried, but soon gasped when he saw a van in front of them. Ghost panicked, frozen in the middle of the road.

"MASAKI, JUMP!!!" Sayuki screamed, but Aiba didn't react. The older galloped toward him to take Ghost's rein and pushed him on the side of the road. The horse seemed to wake up and moved, but the van arrived. Sayuki didn't manage to jump from his horse and Spirit reared up, the van crashing into him.

"SAYUKI!!!" Aiba screamed in horror when Sayuki fell on the ground.

"There was so much blood that I fainted and woke up in hospital. Spirit was barely alive and the doctors told me Sayuki had died immediately."

"And you..."

"I just had a broken wrist. You've noticed the scars of Spirit's body?"

"Yes. I thought it was his old owner who did that to him."

"It was the accident. When I left hospital, I felt so empty. Because of my caprice, my boyfriend was dead and his children had lost their father. Spirit was a mess. He didn't let anyone approach him and panicked at any noise, especially noises of cars."

"But he looks fine now..."

"It took me years to make him accept my presence. I reminded him the accident. Horses are very clever and he associated me to his trauma. I almost gave up and wanted to sell the ranch, but Kazu and Oh-chan forbade me. Kazu made me remember my mother's words. “By healing horses, we also heal ourselves.” I decided to heal Spirit and myself at the same time. Sayuki loved Spirit and I owed him that. It was so hard. Spirit almost killed me when I tried to approach him. He was so traumatized and lost that I even started to think nobody would be able to heal him."

"But you managed to."

"Hun. Because of an old friend of my mother. He was a kind of hermit and lived in a ranch in the middle of nowhere. I brought him Spirit. It would be too long to explain, but I managed to create a link between us. I worked hard, spent almost all my time with Spirit and I finally did it. He gave me its trust."

"Was he still afraid of cars?"

"A bit. He could hear the noises of a car and see it, but on the road it's still very hard."

"And you let me ride him knowing he was dangerous?!"

"Spirit isn't dangerous. The only risk was the road, but I had never planned to make you ride him there."

"You still lied to me and made me take risks!" Sho snapped.

"I know, but you reminded me Sayuki so much. Not physically but when you were riding Spirit. Of course, Sayu was a very experienced rider but your attitude and faces are the same when you two are with Spirit."

"So, you slept with me because I remind you your ex?!" Sho asked coldly.

"No. At the beginning, yes. I had a crush on you because I could see Sayuki in you, but I realized with time that you are pretty different. You are an amazing person, Sho, and an incredible brother. I fell for you because you always think about the important people in your eyes before yourself. You're arrogant, stubborn, proud and so annoying sometimes, but you also have a big heart. You are courageous, smart, kind and respect the others, not only the horses. I only rejected you because I was scared to suffer like I suffered when I lost Sayuki."

Sho looked away, not knowing what to say.

"Sho..."

"I would like to be alone for a moment," Sho whispered.

"Alright. I need a coffee though." Aiba stood up and left the bedroom.

"Don't be angry at him," Jun said softly.

"He lied to me."

"I don't approve of his lie, but don't forget what he did for us. He welcomed us as if we were his family and helped me to heal my trauma."

"I know but..."

"He told me he wouldn't reject you. I asked him if I can live at the ranch to teach me what he knows about horses and he agreed."

"Stay here?" Sho gasped.

"I want to live here. I've never felt as good as I am with horses. I love the ranch and I have to continue my training with Yume."

"Jun, we have to go back to Tokyo," Sho sighed.

"Why? It's you who told Masaki you were ready to stay here."

"I know but..."

"But you are too stubborn to forgive him. Why can't you forgive him?"

"He betrayed my trust!"

"And he also helped us!" Jun snapped.

Sho didn't answer and looked away stubbornly.

"Fine, if you want to be unhappy because of your pride, go on. But when your body is healed, you will go back to Tokyo alone!"

"What do you mean about my body?" Sho frowned. Jun gasped and bit his lip. "Jun, please."

"You have to wait for the doctor."

"Tell me what's wrong!"

"I'll call him." Jun sighed and left the bedroom, seeing Aiba next to the door. "Aiba-chan, I..."

"He will hate me even more when he finds out." Aiba lowered his head.

"He is just too stupid and proud to admit he can forgive you."

"Let's call the doctor," Aiba simply said.

They called him and waited with Sho in the bedroom. The rapper stayed silent. He grabbed his brother's hand making Jun sigh and smile softly.

"Sakurai-kun, how do you feel?" The doctor asked when he entered the bedroom.

"Fine but is it normal if I can't move my legs?" Sho asked worriedly.

"Well, sort of."

"What do you mean?"

"When you fell from the horse's back, your spine has been touched a bit."

"And?"

"There is a chance you won't ever be able to walk again."

"What?!"

"It's not 100% sure, but it will be certainly the case if you don't follow a strict re-education. You will have to be very patient if you want to walk one day."

"I'm paralyzed..." Sho whispered with an empty voice.

"Technically, no. If you were paralyzed, you wouldn't be able to walk again. In your case, with a good re-education, you will have chances to use your legs again. Luckily, you have an amazing family and friends that are ready to help you, so you won't stay in a wheelchair all your life. I'm sure of that. I'll give you all the information when you leave the hospital." The doctor bowed and left.

"Sho, I..." Aiba started.

"Leave me alone. You too," Sho whispered. Aiba patted Jun's shoulder but the young boy shook his head.

"No."

"Jun..." Sho growled.

"I won't leave you alone when you need us the most! I know you are hurt and it's very hard to learn that, but I won't let you dive into depression!"

"I just need to be alone!"

"What for?! To cry alone and think you will never walk again or will end up useless?! Stop trying to be strong in front of me. Show me your weaknesses for once in your life!!!" Jun yelled.

"I don't have any weaknesses! I'm fine! I'm strong!" Sho screamed angrily.

"I know what papa and the man did to you!!!" Jun cried. Sho's eyes widened.

"I saw them doing that to you... I saw them destroying you and making you cry in despair!" Jun sobbed. "It's why I never talked for seven years, because papa saw me and threatened me. He said he would destroy you even more if I talked!"

"Jun..."

"You never cried in front of me! You acted as if nothing happened while those two bastards had raped you!!! Why?! Why didn't you take me with you to run away?! Why did you act as if I was the victim of this story?!!!" Jun cried loudly.

"It was my way not to break down," Sho whispered. "And because I was dead worried when you disappeared and started to stay silent. I just wanted to protect you and for that, I had to be strong and build a wall between the reality and my heart."

"I never asked you to protect me. I wanted you to be happy and you are unhappy since all this time. You maybe haven't noticed but you started to smile again when you arrived at the ranch. I never saw you truly smile when we were in Tokyo. You always hide your emotions too much. You are great to take care of me and to show me everyday how much you love me, but you've never shown me your sadness! I wanted to be here for you too. I wanted to comfort you when you cried, but you have never cried in front of me! Stop trying to be strong and let your pain go! Let me help you and protect you for once. Let us take care of you and show you how much you mean for us! Be my brother and not my father for once in your life!" Jun sobbed.

"Jun..." Sho wrapped his brother in his arms. "I'm so sorry."

"Crying isn't a weakness, Nii-chan. Release your pain and you will feel better. What happened to you is unfair and you have the right to cry. Let it go, show me your pain," Jun whispered, taking his brother's hand. "You can talk about what happened that day. At least to Aiba if you are ashamed to talk about it to me. But talk to someone," Jun implored. The young boy's eyes widened when a tear rolled down Sho's cheek.

"He destroyed me," Sho stammered.

"Like that, let it go. You can cry. Everything will be all right. You're not alone, Nii-chan." Jun smiled weakly. Sho raised his eyes to look at Aiba who sat on the other side of the bed and took his hand.

"I know you hate me for lying to you but Jun is right. You're not alone. We are here for you. I'm here for you because I love you, Sho." Aiba stroked Sho's cheek shyly and the older put his hand on Masaki's.

"Thank you."
