Author: MatsuAurore

Genre: Au, angst, romance, family, drama
Summary: Sho, a famous doctor, meets Aiba, a pediatrician in the hospital he works in. They fall in love deeply but what Aiba didn't expect was his lover's son who doesn't seem ready to accept him so easily.

Part 7:

Aiba drove quickly, angst overwhelming his mind and body. His hands were shaking in fear and he almost crashed into another car as panic was preventing him to calm down. If something happened to Jun, he would never forgive himself. And not because Jun was his lover's son but because he loved the young boy. Jun hated him and was harsh with him but Aiba remembered how the teenager liked him before he discovered the truth about his relationship with Sho. Aiba knew Jun was a kind boy who only suffered and tried to show it. Maybe it was his pediatrician's side that talked but Masaki couldn't stop loving this young boy who was so close to his father and acted like an adult when he was just 17 years old.
Aiba parked his car and left it, running toward the house, his briefcase in his hand.

"Aiba-sensei?" A boy asked.

"Where is Jun?!"

"Inside, come on." The boy who seemed to be this Taisuke led him in the house and Aiba almost fainted when he saw Jun laid on a bed, sweat covering his body that was shaking.

"What happened?" Aiba asked, cleaning his hands before taking his stethoscope.

"He was already weird when we started the party. He was sweating a lot and his face was all white but he kept saying he was fine. Around 00 a.m, he said he had a headache and almost fainted. I brought him in bed, thinking it was just because of the alcohol but I found him in this state three hours later."

"You let him alone?! Are you unconscious?!"

"I thought he was a bit drunk." Taisuke protested.

"I think it's a mononucleosis, I knew he was acting weirdly for some days."

"Is it that bad?"

"Mononucleosis is not too dangerous but he needs to go to hospital. I hope he hasn't kissed Toma because he could catch it. Taisuke, help me. I need a big blanket, we have to keep him warm."

"But he is sweating a lot." Taisuke protested.

"Are you the doctor?" Aiba snapped, raising Jun in his arms. "What has he drunk?"

"Hum... Beers and Vodka. Maybe also some tequila."

"The alcohol was a very bad idea in his state, it didn't help at all." Aiba laid Jun on the back seat, covering his shivering body before climbing in the car.

"Can you call me when he will be awake?"

"If you're that worried for your friend, come to visit him tomorrow." Aiba replied before starting the car.

The doctor drove fast, reaching the hospital quickly.

"Reina-san, I need a stretcher now!" Aiba ordered when he entered the hospital with Jun in his arms.

"Jun-kun? What happened?" Reina gasped.

"Swollen glands, exhaustion, he had a headache and abdominal pains with nausea. I think it's mononucleosis." Aiba said while laying the boy on the stretcher. "I'll take care of him."

"Do have I to call Sakurai-sensei?"

"No. It's not a fatal sickness. Let me do." Aiba brought Jun in a bedroom and brought the drip, sinking a needle in Jun's arm. "I'll take care of you, Jun." The doctor whispered, stroking the boy's sweating forehead.

"Do you need some help, sensei?" Reina asked.

"I have to make some tests of his blood, can you take care of him while I do it?"

"Of course. Go."

"Thank you."

Jun opened his eyes with a moan of pain, it was as if his head was going to explode and he felt cold despite the big blankets covering his body.

"You're awake." Jun turned his head to see Aiba smiling despite the big shadows under his eyes.

"Where am I?"

"At Sakura. Your friend called me because you were in a very bad state. You have the mononucleosis. You will be sick for several weeks and will take some medicine for your headaches but it will be fine. And you are not allowed to approach Toma too much for at least, three months, he could catch your disease. You've scared me."

"Papa would kill you if something happened to me." Jun chuckled.

"Yes but I wouldn't forgive myself either if it happened."

"Why? I'm horrible with you." Jun replied.

"Because we are friends, Jun."

"We're not friends. My friends aren't liars."

"I know we lied to you but I told you I regretted it, Jun." Aiba tried to touch Jun's arm but the young boy slapped his hand.

"Don't touch me."

"I'm sorry. I brought you your lunch, you should eat. And your father will call you, I told him you were too tired yesterday and went to bed immediately." Aiba stood up. "I'm not your enemy, Jun, I just want us to form a family."

"No need to pretend you like me." Jun snapped.

"I'm not pretending. I like you, Jun. And you deserve a real family." Aiba said softly before leaving the bedroom.

Jun buried his face in his knees, angry. But he wasn't angry at Aiba. He was angry at himself for not being able to trust this so kind doctor. He wanted to but couldn't. After his rape and after hearing his mother had abandoned him, the trust he had in people disappeared. For him, humans were cowards and liars who just took advantage of the weak ones. That's why he only trusted his father who had given him his life.

His father called him and Jun lied, reassuring him by saying he was only a bit tired but that Aiba took care of him. As much as he hated the doctor, he couldn't make his father leave Kyoto and abandon one of his dreams once again.

"When can I leave?" Jun muttered when Aiba checked his health some days later.

"You're still sick, Jun. I can bring you home tonight but you will have to stay in your bed."

"I prefer. I have my exams in one month and I'm not ready."

"Do you want I help you?" Aiba asked, hopeful. Jun bit his lip as if he was really thinking about it before shaking his head.

"I don't need anyone to work."

"If you say so." Aiba sighed.

"When can you bring me home?"

"At the end of my service, at 7 p.m."

"Can't I go home myself?"

"In your dreams, I don't want you to collapse, you barely stand on your legs and you still have fever." Aiba replied. "I have to go. Don't you dare leave this bedroom!"

"You're so annoying." Jun rumbled, laying his head on his pillow to sleep a bit.

But Aiba didn't come at 7 p.m. The doctor was already four hours late and with a shrug, Jun stoop up weakly and grabbed his stuffs before leaving his bedroom. He will call Aiba to tell him he went home by taxi. The weather outside was cold and Jun shivered violently, wrapping his arms around himself.
After sending a message to Aiba, the young boy made his way out of the hospital, the streets already dived in darkness. His phone made him jump in fear and Jun answered with a groan.

"Yeah?"

"Jun, where are you?!"

"I left as you were four hours late."

"I told you to wait for me!!" Aiba screamed in the phone.

"Oh c'mon, it's not a big deal, the house isn't far, I can..." Jun stopped, hearing a noise and turned around in fear. A cat passed and made him sigh in relief. For several weeks, he had the feeling someone was following him but it seemed he was becoming paranoid.

"Jun?"

"Yeah. As I was saying, I can go home, I'm fine and..." Jun screamed when something grabbed his arm.

"Jun? JUN?!!!!" Aiba yelled but no answer came.

****

Aiba closed his phone and without even taking his blouse off, ran out of the hospital. There was only one way Jun could take to go home and Aiba ran as fast as possible, fear almost making his heart explode.

"Jun?!" Aiba called while running but the streets were empties and after several minutes, Aiba found Jun's phone on the ground. "Shit!" The doctor took his phone to call the police but a cry stopped him. Aiba looked everywhere and gasped, seeing Jun on the ground with a man on top of him who was ripping his clothes while the young boy was crying and struggling. "Bastard!" Aiba yelled, punching the man roughly.

"Don't interrupt us, cutie, it doesn't concern you." The man smirked, holding out a knife.

"You came..." Jun sobbed.

"Of course I came! Run, Jun." Aiba ordered.

"But..."

"I told you to run away!!" Aiba yelled.

Jun blinked, not used to hear Aiba screaming. Nodding, Jun stood up on his shaking legs, holding his ripped shirt.

"You're totally crazy or stupid." The man laughed.

"Nobody touches my son."

"Your son? Jun-chan has only his father." The man blinked.

"How do you..."

"I guessed well, you don't know me. It seems Sakurai has found a new bitch. Nice to meet you, I'm Yuri, I met Jun-chan seven years ago as he was leaving his friend's house."

"You are..." Aiba paled at the words. This man was the one who had raped Jun seven years ago.

"Yeah. I'm very angry you interrupted our moment together."

"You're insane."

"It's what they said seven years ago." The man laughed, approaching Aiba. The doctor moved back, avoiding the knife and hitting the man, his hand screaming in pain as his bones cracked. "Bitch." The man growled, hitting Aiba who gasped as the knife cut his blouse but luckily, missed his body.

"Don't touch my dad, bastard!" A voice groaned and the man fell on his knees when Jun hit his head with a metal bar.

"Jun!" Aiba rushed toward the boy who couldn't stand on his legs anymore. Soon, the doctor heard the sound of sirens and three police cars stopped next to them.

"Don't move!" A police man yelled at Yuri who was standing up.

"I've called them with my phone." Jun whispered.

"Thank you."

"I don't want to go back to hospital." Jun shivered.

"We won't. Let's go home." Aiba lifted Jun in his arms.

"Sir, we need your deposition." A policeman protested.

"Can you do it at my house, my son is sick." Aiba asked, though, the tone of the doctor looked more like an order than a question. The man nodded helplessly and Aiba brought Jun to his car.

After answering to the policemen, Aiba checked Jun who was in his bed, unable to stop his shivers.

"Jun..."

"Your hand..." Jun gasped, seeing Aiba's bleeding hand.

"It's okay. Don't mind it." Aiba smiled but Jun shook his head. The doctor's hands were the most precious parts of his body. Without it, he could say goodbye to his job.

"No, we have to check it."

"Want to do it? It will be your first intervention." Aiba smiled. Jun nodded shyly and the doctor brought his material, holding out his hand to the young boy. Jun palpated it softly with a concentrate look and sighed in relief.

"The bones don't seem broken. But you will have some pains for several days and you should make a radiography." Jun said while cleaning the wound.

"Thank you. You'll make a great doctor later." Aiba smiled.

"Aiba-san?"

"Hun?"

"Thank you for saving me. Without you, he would have..." Jun started to sob and Aiba wrapped him in his arms, rocking him backward and forward.

"I know I know. But it's over, he won't harm you again."

"This man... He... Seven years ago... He raped me..." Jun cried loudly and Aiba decided to act as if he didn't know it yet not to break Jun's trust toward his father.

"Tell me."

"I can't... It hurts... I can't talk about it..." Jun sobbed.

"Jun, you hold too many painful things in your heart, I swear you will feel better if you talk about it." Aiba wiped the boy's tears with a soft smile.

"When I was ten... Papa said he would pick me up at Kazu's house... But the hospital called him for a big emergency and he told me to go home alone as the house wasn't far..." Jun started.

"Go on." Aiba stroked his cheek.

"I was scared. It was dark outside and there was nobody... And suddenly, someone caught my arm... It was Yuri... He... He forced me to follow him and... He ripped my clothes... I cried and screamed but he only laughed and... He... It hurt so much... I cried so much that my throat hurt... And papa wasn't here... Papa abandoned me... He had promised he would always be here for me but this night, I was alone..." Jun cried loudly.

"You can cry, it's okay." Aiba whispered, tightening his hold around Jun. "It's normal to be angry though, your father never wanted to abandon you or betray you. You were only ten and were alone. But it's okay now, you'll never be alone ever again."

"Papa wanted to talk about it... He tried but I always refused... It hurt too much and... And I was angry at him..."

"Keeping this pain in your heart wasn't a good idea, Jun. When we go through too painful things, we need to talk about it or we can't move on."

"But I moved on."

"No, Jun. You just shut this pain in a corner of your mind and heart. If you had moved on, you wouldn't be scared by other's touch."

"You..."

"I saw it. I realized the only persons able to touch you were Sho and Toma."

"I feel stupid."

"You aren't. You are just traumatized."

"I should talk about it with papa, ne?"

"Yes. Sho must suffer about this situation too and I think it would be great if you could both tell each other what you feel."

"I'll do it then."

"And you should talk about your mother too."

"It's why I didn't accept you."

"Eh?"

"I heard papa talking about her to baa-chan. It hurt me so much. Learning I was a mistake, just an accident and that by my fault, papa sacrificed his life for me."

"Jun, maybe Sho didn't plan to have a child so early but why do you think he raised you instead of abandoning you?"

"Because he felt guilty."

"No. You see, your father told me for your mother and guess what he said? He said it was true, you weren't planned. He thought he would have children later after his studies but he told me one thing. He never regretted his choice to keep you. He said if he could go back in time, he wouldn't change any of his choices. You were maybe an accident, Jun but you are his most beautiful accident. And Sho loved your mother so, you were created in love. In his way, your father made a physical proof of his love for your mother. How do you want he regrets it?"

"She betrayed him."

"Yes, but he never forgot he loved her. Sho didn't sacrifice his life, he made his own decisions and one of them was to raise you. Do you know what he told me when your mother left you in his arms? He said in one look, he fell in love with you. He understood in one look that you really were his baby and that he would do everything to protect you."

"He never told me those things." Jun whispered.

"Sho is a bit shy when it comes to talk about his real feelings. But I swear you're the biggest pride of his life."

"It was because of that that I rejected you so much. Because I was afraid papa gets hurt again and this time, would realize his life wasn't what he wanted and would abandon me too."

"I don't understand." Aiba frowned.

"There were two options in my mind. You could have hurt him and after mama, papa wouldn't have handled it. Or you could have given him a life I wasn't able to give him. I was scared he would realize his life was better with you than with me and that he would abandon me."

"I will never hurt you father on purpose. I want to spend my life with him though, we never know what can happen in the future. I could die or we could stop loving each other but today, I can't see my life without him. And Jun, I've never wanted to make Sho abandon you. You see, as I am gay, I had abandoned the idea of having children but when I saw you with Sho, I fell in love with you two. You look so close and cute together. And I wanted to become a part of your family, to become your second father or at least, your friend."

"You make papa so happy and I was jealous of that. I was jealous not to be the only one able to make him laugh and smile like that."

"Jun, Sho isn't happier with me. We both bring him two different types of happiness and together, we can make him the happiest man of the world."

"I've been very horrible with you."

"I knew you only suffered and was trying to show it in your own way as your father and you are too stubborn to talk about your feelings." Aiba smirked, making Jun laugh.

"Will you forgive me?"

"I've never been angry at you. In fact, I was just sad and thought you would never like me."

"I like you. I've always liked you, you're an amazing person but I was too hurt and scared to admit it."

"Let's forget the past and build a new future, ne?"

"Hun."

"And I'll help you with your exams."

"I don't work with annoying and clumsy baka." Jun smirked, making Aiba laugh loudly.

"Brat, I'll show you how smarter than you I am!"

"I understand why papa fell in love with you." Jun chuckled.

"Eh?"

"Your smile."

"Why?"

"Your smile is able to appease any pain." Jun whispered.

"I'm glad to have a smile like that, then." Aiba grinned, hugging the young boy in his arms.

Yes, maybe they would turn out fine now that both had talked about their pain.
And maybe they would become a real family.
