On Houses.

It's one week until the wedding, and I find myself thinking about houses.

One of the hard things about being an academic is that I have no idea where I will be living three years from now. Which kind of takes the fun out of "oh, wouldn't it be neat if" looking at house ads. I know I want square footage because I want space for my books, and acreage so Kara can grow her orchids. And I'd either like something a bit odd, like a converted school, church, or bank, or an old Victorian. We don't have the money for both acreage and construction of a castle.

But, in reality, I'll probably end up in an apartment wherever at least til she is done. Assuming I get the diss. done, defended, and am successful on the market next year.
