Okay, okay, I really didn't have to deal with the undead rampaging in the Salem Barnes & Noble: that was just me joining in a collective impersonation of Orson Welles when he trolled an entire radio audience with his production of H.G. Wells's "The War of the Worlds", only with blogging about zombies instead of broadcasting fake radio news reports of strange lights in the sky and invaders from Mars landing on a farm in a vague town in New Jersey.
No, really, my birthday week trip to the B&N went very well: found everything I was looking for, including:
--The last of the Mortal Instruments books. I still have to read the rest of the series; I'm currently maybe a quarter the way through Book Two (City of Ashes), so I got three more to read after this and before I can get to the newest one.
--"Skin Game", the newest of the Dresden Files books, and one I had been looking forward to ever since I first read the blurb for it. Harry Dresden seeking out the Holy Grail? Count me in! I had trouble finding this one in the store: I looked for it among the science fiction/fantasy books and couldn't find it, which got me a bit concerned (had they sold it out already??), but when I looked among the New York Times bestsellers, I soon found it).
--Volume 2 of the Arrow tie-in graphic novel. I really need to get myself caught up on the current season, since I think I've lost track of the narrative.
