We had every intention of going to Mass at Mary Immaculate, but due to a malfunctioning alarm clock, we ended up getting up later, which meant we went to Mass at St. Joseph's in Lowell. Someone had left a small collection of antique statues on a table in the vestibule, along with a "free" sign, including a nicely painted one of St. Michael, which we've since added to our home collection.
Also, smuggled my plush Twilight Sparkle in the tote bag I carry my prayer books in. Bit of a throwback to when I was a wee Refugee and my mother would let me bring a plush unicorn to church: we found out unicorns were used in early and medieval Christian art as a symbol of many things (the Incarnation, Passion and Death of Christ, Mary's perpetual virginity, humility, purity, among others), so this was a way to sanctify one of my pet childhood obsessions.
Quiet day, though I'm likely going to need the quiet. Holy Week/Passover is the third busiest week of the year, and it's going to be doubly busy, since Greek Easter falls on the same day as Western Christian Easter (which doesn't happen very often, but this is one of those rare years). Spent the day resting and watching movies with my mother, including "...And Justice For All", featuring Al Pacino as a defense lawyer stuck defending a skeevy judge he detests; very odd for me watching it, since I'm used to him playing mobsters (or, in the case of "The Devil's Advocate", the Devil himself).
Still reading ye Nocturnes, might have some text to write up soon, as I think I'm getting the hang of the silly style. Said silly style has started to get eye-roll-inducing, and it's making me much more willing to reach for the spiritual reading that should occupy my eyes, especially this week.
