Bright sunny day today, so we opened more windows around the house, including the windows near our bird' cages: they got a bit leery of the open curtains, especially Oz the cockatiel, but Flurry the budgie seemed to enjoy it, started twittering and singing as the breeze ruffled his feathers. It's been a long winter: they needed fresh air as much as the rest of us.
Started in on my homework assignment to myself: reading Silhouette Nocturne novels to prime myself for the writing challenge and to work my way through the stack of unread ones. I've forgotten how wacky the writing can get in these, how silly the characters act, how awkward they talk.
Another assignment, as my mother and I are reading Warren Carroll's "The Glory of Christendom" (the fourth in his monumental History of Christendom), we've gotten up to St. Joan of Arc, and Dr. Carroll has made some reference from V. Sackville-West's biography of Joan of Arc, which I realized we have (courtesy of a library book sale). So now I'm digging through our very extensive library, trying to find it.
Went for a walk, got my hours: I'm scheduled for two days, but don't be surprised if I post about working one or two more days next week, because Passover/Easter (Western and Eastern Christian, one of the rare times they line up at the same time). The Mad Ham Parade started last week, along with pineapples and chocolate bunnies and chocolate crosses. Haven't seen many lamb legs, but that should change.
