Busy, tiring Ash Wednesday: picked up some hours at work, since someone had been requested to work that day but had never returned my boss's calls, so I was next on the list to take the slot. Saw quite a few people with ashes on their foreheads come through my lane: it gives me hope. Wished I could have gone to Mass today, but God wanted me in another place.
Also, Mom and I went back to doing evening Bible study: good idea for Lent, plus with my dad working nights, it's easier for us to do. Might be doing it two nights a week (Dad works three nights a week, tending boilers at the greenhouse where he works), once we get into the swing of it.
Finally got a book that I had ordered in the mail, ie. George R.R. Martin & Gardener Dozois's "Dangerous Women" anthology, featuring a new novella by Jim Butcher (to tide me over till the next Dresden Files book comes out) and also a new Song of Ice & Fire novella. Almost was going to pass and just read the one story in the nearest Barnes & Noble when I got the chance, but I changed my mind (also finding it for one third the cover price on Amazon helped). I'd ordered this a few weeks ago and had started to get worried when it didn't show up; seems it got held up by the recent storms hitting other parts of the U.S.
