Coming up for air after I've been buried under a pile of fics, and for once, here's a real entry, not a robo-entry from Twitter.
I'm almost at my word-count target for the day, which is 25K words. Got within hailing distance last night/early this morning whilst typing/posting Death Note anon kink fic (hence the lack of links yesterday, since I don't exactly advertise those: one was embarrassing to write, the other might have discomforted some people). So far, I've filled several dozen prompts already this month, on both
comment_fic and fic_promptly on Dreamwidth. Somehow, I snagged a fair number of Torchwood prompts, including several involving Myfanwy the pterodactyl.
Taking a weensy bit of a break today: I needed to Run Some Errands, including taking care of bank stuff and buying some odds and ends and vitamins. Also, at the hole in a wall bookstore in downtown Lowell, picked up Gareth Roberts's novelization of the missing Douglas Adams episodes of Doctor Who: not sure if these are missing due to the mismanagement at the BBC in the eighties which resulted in Tapes Being Taped Over or what went on there but. It's Douglas Adams. And Doctor Who. Match made in Gallifrey.
And, at Wal-Mart, I discovered they had series 1 of Torchwood on DVD. I couldn't help staring and I certainly couldn't resist buying, since it was less than USD$20. It also amuses me that *WAL-MART* is stocking Torchwood. I don't know if that was a management oversight or what, but I'll take it!
Came home to find that The Missing Amazon Order had turned up: I'd ordered a copy of The Torchwood Archives, a fascinating in-universe book that appears to be the notes of some investigative journalist who tried investigating Torchwood (and likely had their notes appropriated by said subject of investigation). I had thought this order had Gone Missing, but I'd forgotten it was coming from the UK and got delayed. I was about to file a missing package claim today, but hello, there it was.
And I'd better end here and get back to banging out more fics...
