Back from hiding...

I was in a particularly nasty mood all last week, due to my imminent "moontime", as Anne Bishop dubbed it in her Black Jewels novels, hence ye long silence. I'm better than I was, though I'm still in the feeling like my insides have a hangover stage.

Been reading a *lot* of books whilst I've been sequestered under the covers with a cup of tea, including a lot of Caitlin R. Kiernan, including her recently released "Confessions of a Five Chambered Heart" and it's companion over-sized chapbook "The Yellow Book", her first commercially published novel "Silk", the tiny but jam-packed "Tale From the Woeful Platypus", and am now reading the Meisa-Merlin edition of "Tales of Pain and Wonder" (someday, I will track down the Subterranean Press edition, which has several stories that the MM editors decided to cut for some reason. Then again, this is CRK and she's known to go to lengths that some editors would find cringe-inducing). Also signed up for her e-zine Sirenia Digest and was delighted to find that this issue contains the script and concept art for one issue of "Alabaster: Wolves".

I'm also reading the manga version of Death Note (a lot more details to it than the anime, though it's fairly close). And after seeing cupcake_goth's lovely repost on Tumblr of a defense of ye Monster High franchise, I picked up the books at the library (also, Muraki has been chatting off an on with a Frankie Stein on DW's "Dramadramaduck", so I was intrigued). It's deliciously silly stuff, in the same vein (ha-ha!) as the Vampire Kisses books, but with a little more substance to them. Sometimes, you just need a cute, silly book to read and this fills the bill.

I also decided, out of the blue, to start a master list of all my YnM fics and put them into some vague chronological order. This should get interesting, since a lot of them are AU fics, and the rest all over the face of the canon timeline.
