BREAKING NEWS: My Internet is broke...
Posting from McDonald's where I am using their WiFi (and kicking myself for not bringing my headphones, since there is someone using a yellphone behind me who's getting on me nerves).
My connection was spotty yesterday, then out of the blue, it cut out and would not come back up. Restarted the router, wiggling the cables, restarting the laptop. Nothing.
I called Verizon's tech support and, through human error, disconnected the phone >.< My second call got through, but I ended up on hold for the better part of an hour (during which I prayed rosaries...), but had to hang up since I had to eat supper. Called a third time at 11 pm EST, I finally got through to a very helpful tech guy who ran some tests at his end, only to come up with a probable diagnosis that my router was Not Transmitting Properly. So they're shipping a new router which is supposed to arrive sometime tomorrow. So, today, since I was venturing out to run an errand or two (it was all I felt capable of doing: I'm better, my fever is finally *GONE*, but my throat still feels like someone tried to coat it with spackling), I decided to have lunch at Micky-D's and use their free WiFi. Not the healthiest lunch choice, perhaps, but I've barely been able to eat all week. A few extra calories won't kill me (and might be what I need since it's been painful to swallow anything).
Hopefully, I'll be back online tomorrow night: I'm a bit bibbledy at the prospect of being offline till then, but I've got books I'm reading and backed-up housework to take care of (mostly laundry, and I need to wash my sheets). I'll be too busy to notice I can't go online!
