[love_bingo FIC] "Love Between Two Worlds" (The Matrix Online - PG)
I finally thought of a pairing for one of the prompts I was stuck on, and that was Sieges, my character from the Matrix Online, who became a minor canon character when she got mentioned by name in the text of mission, and her true love PeriodDouble.

There were times when the Real was too much for Sieges, when the cold and the darkness, when the privations grew too much for her senses. And even jacking into the Matrix brought another set of problems, what with the Machines trying to corner and delete the Exiles, or the Zionites considering her a traitor for empathizing with programs. But there was one young man who made it all worthwhile, the lord of love to this young paladin.
Maybe the sky was blackened in the Real and the sky in the Matrix was subject to glitches, but he had still shown her the moon. He had an incredible talent when it came to designing constructs. They had saved each other from spiraling down into their own souls. With him at her sides, she could keep her head up and continue to lead the family. Circumstances had forced her to take the lead and become the head of the family. But like the angels known as the Watchers or the Grigori, whose story she had told to the family on the night they had reshaped it, she had turned her back on a bad situation and lead the ones whom she cared for to a new life. He might not be the father of the family, since that role belonged to Tranque, the odd but stately man who had helped Sieges to navigate the rough waters. But PeriodDouble was Sieges's consort and if she was the Merovingian's paladin, he was her squire and her lord.
She was, to him, like one of those angels who had forsaken the cool-blooded delights of heaven for the warmer love of earth and the humans who dwelled on it. She had chosen him out of all the others who had courted her attentions. Neither of them had expected love, not from each other. He had come to her seeking a girl whom he had accidentally Awakened, for whose well-being he felt responsible, especially given what had happened to her in the Real. But she had helped him find more than that. She had helped him to find his heart, though had quickly lost it again, losing it to her.
She was his angel, his lady in white, who could leap from rooftop to rooftop as if she were flying. She watched over the Matrix and those who dwelled in it, Exile and Bluepill alike. The both of them might serve someone who seemed to reign in hell rather than serve in heaven, but the Red King of the Exiles had not always been that way, and somehow, her pure heart could see that in him, hidden away. And that was why PeriodDouble loved her so much: she might be a warrior, armed with a pair of submachineguns instead of a sword and wearing a white fedora and trench coat instead of armor, but she was also a lover, one of the rare people in the Matrix, one of the rare Redpills, who showed compassion, who understood the responsibility of being Awakened. For her, it was not about power, for her it was about love, it was about using her strength and her ability to protect others, to protect the Matrix because it was a home to many folk, human and program alike. While she knew that not all could live there, she knew that not all could leave it, either. And it was that compassion that drew him to her, that made their love as firm as stone and as strong as iron. She opened her heart to him when she had every reason to distrust him. Even still, she could see past that and see where he had made a mistake, a costly one, yes, but still something he had not foreseen.
And he had not foreseen that he would find Sieges, much less fall in love with her, nor had he foreseen that she would fall in love with him...
