Thanks for the comments: I wasn't sure if I'd gotten the flow right on this fic, since it kept coming out in fragments which I hoped would come together in the edit.

I'm very fond of Kaori: in some ways she reminds me of Lizzie Bennet in "Pride & Prejudice", only a little sadder and more cynical. I think I actually started writing this fic at around the part where they're bantering about "intelligent fashion design"
