Wind and rain and lightning and thunder all night last night: perfect soundtrack for reading spooky stories, not so much for sleeping, as the thunder kept waking me up. I could put my head under the covers and block out the lightning that kept flickering around the edges of the window shades, but that didn't do much to muffle the thunder.

Second day of what's supposed to be a three-day nor'easter, and I had work this morning and afternoon. Not the busiest day, but more than I expected: I figured the wind and rain would keep the crowd down considerably, but if one thing is certain, you can never guess what the crowd will be like when the weather gets weird.

True crime talk at the library tonight, featuring a talk on the James "Whitey" Bulger trial by the author of a recently published book on the events of the trial, a law professor and former prosecutor who'd sat in on the trial and knows a lot of the key people in law enforcement who'd been involved.
