Happy 124th, H.P. Lovecraft!

So! Dug out the leather-bound complete fiction of H.P. and have been leafing through it, looking for a few choice readings that I've not already read. Also scared up the playlist of audiobooks on YouTube and might listen to a few whilst writing -- and the writing may include a fake HP story from the Team Albany-'verse, since we've chattered about our universe's version of Muraki as an HP fanboy (I'm also tempted to record my own version of "Herbert West: Reanimator", since the one listed on YouTube doesn't really satisfy me: HP wrote the story for a humor magazine and it really does read as a black comedy, especially if you have a somewhat warped sense of humor, the way I sometimes do). I've also scared up the H.P. Lovecraft Society's film version of "The Call of Cthulhu" and plan to watch it as a double feature back to back with the 1985 "Re-Animator".

I've also been pinch-hitting on comment_fic: I'd signed up as a possible pinch-hitter some time ago and my turn came around. Might even go for the cosmic horror angle for tomorrow's theme, we shall see...

Errands today (during the day, that is): had to head up to Wal-Mart to buy Zyrtec since I had started to get low on it (plus I had a coupon that would only last till the end of the week). Contemplated buying the boxed set of the Divergent series, but it falls a bit outside the budget right now (no word on the mess at work, no sign of a deal yet, though there are reports that a deal could come by the end of the week. I'm not holding my breath, and I may not believe it until my boss calls me and tells me to come back to work as soon as possible, that they need all hands on deck to restock the store).

fandom: hp lovecraft, fandom: divergent (books and movie)
