2pm happy hour
so yeah, it was holiday2 Rollout this morning with the district manager in the store. My direct manager called to find out if anyone had brought donuts and I said yeah, but he could bring beer:) Rollout was pretty on time (except for the putting of stuff away which is waiting for tomorrow to be finished. During the box opening stage the idea of going out to drink after work came up, but no one seemed keen to go drinking at 2pm.
BUT ... as I was leaving aforementioned manager asked if I wanted to go for drinks after all. And so it goes that I am now happily at home with a nice vodka buzz. He even paid for the drinks and the appetizers. So if we go for a post rollout happy hour again, I'll pick the check up then. And while it might have been fun if others had joined us, but that would have confused the conversation since we started out discussing work issues (which included the performance of the others this morning) before we went rambling off on various topics. And more people might have been inducement to drink either more or less (depending on who might have come along, as it was we each had 2 drinks, which is probably sane for while the sun is up)

boo tomorrow, when I have to be at work at 7am. (yeah, it's not my normal 5am, but I have to babysit floor cleaners, which is really boring) Luckily, I have LOTS and LOTS of stuff to do in the stockroom...
