Because it's a frequent habit for US culture to absorb words of European thinkers and totally misinterpret them because US culture and people forget (or aren't ware) that these words refer to a culture different than theirs - and that what the US is like isn't a standard for the rest of the world. Isn't the way the world works like throughout the rest of the planet outside of the US.

I do like Industrial...going back to Throbbing Gristle. I've seen Neubauten live three or four times since the 80s. That was great! They are great! They are so humorous and fun in their live shows. So inventive!
I've enjoyed and played shows with martial-industrial, neo-folk, etc. People like Death in June, Novy Svet, Mushrooms Patience, Der Blutharsch, Waldteufel, Wermut, Of the Wand and the Moon, et al.

Industrial, as a genre, widely is an emotional minefield to me today. Aggrotech is very slowly getting acceptable to me in some way - because the composition structures are very similar, if not equal, to Trance.
But it very much depends on what it is content-wise...
