One could have gone and lived in the woods, like mandarinsun was reading a book about and then come back to reality.

Actually, it is probably normal, this is exactly objective way of social development. As the crisis is deepening there is more reason for change. I know people have changed with social media and mass media influencing them, but only to degree. In general, everyone needs to eat and have shelter and this is the decisive factor of surviving and if one wants to survive they will have to change the world.

...You can run away into the woods if it works for you. If you are the "natural"-type that knows nothing better than how to build a house from your own hands, how to get something to eat from nature, and how to live without the modern pleasures civilization has to offer, as well as if you can sustain yourself without the help of modern medicine.
But, on deeper thought, isn't running away into the woods also some kind of saying "somebody else shall do it for me"? You know, like giving up, giving in, and passing on the task to change something in a bigger extent to someone else? The "next one in row"? It only looks differently to burying one's head in the sand like most people do - or telling yourself certain circumstances don't exist.

Since humans are social animals I think surviving in the woods would be rather an exception than a norm. One and the same person cannot be a doctor and engineer and cobbler and tailor etc. So surviving on your own is pretty much impossible. Even prehistoric people figured out that they need someone to stay and keep fire while the other one hunts. And even with that their life expectancy was like 25 years old. We are at the point when the division of labor makes it pretty much impossible to survive on your own because we depend on other people so heavily.

That's what I would have thought too...
Nothing with the running away anymore. You've gotta go and try what you think you can do. Running away maybe uses you as a single person privately, but the whole system is not gonna change just from you running away out of it. The rest of all have got to spend with it too.
So to say... If you want some "pain" gone from the shoulders of many, you've got to stay and try to make shit happen yourself.

Exactly. And everyone needs to understand this.
