I went to Burger King for lunch today, which is located in the parking lot of a little strip mall. Entering the driveway, I noticed a guy sitting on the curb drinking a diet Coke and holding a piece of cardboard so that cars exiting the parking lot could read it. I didn't think much about it, and grabbed my food. The guy was still sitting there on my way out, and that was when I noticed that the cardboard was blank. No pleas about a veteran, so snide remark about needing beer, nothing. Was he too lazy? Could he not find a marker? Or was he so wasted that he actually thought there already was a plea written on the cardboard? I didn't bother asking, so the world may never know.
