New School, New Everything
Okay, so I started school today at Texas State today. I find my way to my first class, Karate, and basically chill out till the Prof introduces himself and goes over the basics.
My only problem with this class is that it ends at 1:50 and my next class starts at 2:00. If you think this would not be a problem, you have obviously never visited this campus. From Jowers to Derrick Hall, it is almost all uphill. STEEP UPHILL.
And to make the matter worse, my Prof for my next class, Algebra, is a stickler on attendance. If you are 5 min late to her class, your absent. Period. And if you late more than 5 times to her class, automatic 10 point deduction off your final grade. Geez!! Give an old guy a break.
My Prof for Algebra is a nice little young lady. I swear I think I'm at least 3 years older than her, but oh well. I think I'll manage in that class as long as I get the book before next Monday so I can do my homework. Yes, homework on the first day and she takes a daily grade EVERY day, whether by homework, quizzes, or in class assignments. Is she by the numbers or what (yes, you can shoot me later for the bad but very accurate pun)?
And then my next class, Geography. I knew something was gonna be weird about this class when the Prof (I have a hard time thinking of him like that much less calling him that) shows up with those massive bolts in his ears, you know the kind that looks like a nut that makes a huge hole in the ear lobe. Yeah, those kind. Ugh!! I don't know if I am scared or disgusted but I think I'm somewhere in the middle. Anyways, he looks like one of those muscle-brained jocks that can't think past the last time they had a drink. He even warned us if we try to email him anytime past 10pm that, though we will get a reply, the reply will most likely be a very inebriated one, yet still accurate according to him. Double Ugh!! And yet again, I know I'm older than him by 3 years. Good Grief!! Kids these days!!
Anyways, so I think I will survive this semester, at least the first three classes. I have'nt gone to my next class because it does not start until 6:30 which means I have an hour and 45 min between my Geography and Business Law Class. So it looks like I might be able to actually update my journal at least every Mon and Wed. Woohoo!!
Well, it was nice chatting with myself. I talk to everyone later since I need to get something to eat.
