So vacation has come and gone. I rather enjoyed it. Made me miss being a student, really. Three months of vacation? Good times. Well, I can either be a student or find someone willing to pay my bills for a couple of months out of the year, heh.

Vacation opened up with large amounts of Gears of War 2 boosting. While the boosting itself basically threw the participants into the most bizarre (and boring) game of virtual hokey pokey you'll ever play, what was most entertaining was getting to spend several hours speaking with people I haven't really had much of a chance to play games with since Rock Band 2 came out. I don't often stay up past midnight anymore, but I managed to stay up past 3AM for two nights because the company was great. Didn't hurt to get that level 100 achievement, too. ;)

Monday-Wednesday I went to Atlantic City with my Mom and one of my brothers. I t was really nice to just be away from everything for a couple of days. Can't wait to do that again. So many good looking options for the winter break, though I'm really leaning toward going somewhere warm. We shall see when it gets closer.

Thursday I had lunch with a friend and went to a place called "The Best Chocolate Cake Shop in the World". Was it the best? Ah... I don't know. By and large, I don't like chocolate cake so I don't have a great comparative sample. I will say that I really enjoyed it, though. I'm not sure how they make it, but it wasn't cake like in some ways. It tasted more like a layer of chocolate covered by a wafer, followed by more chocolate and so on. My friend and I followed this up with a nice walk around lower Manhattan. As with the Gears thing above, a fine day was made better by having great company. :)

Friday was my eldest brother's birthday. I can't believe he's 47. o_O And he's still in way, way, way better shape than I am at 18 years younger, heh. Didn't do anything special but we did get to talk for a while which was nice.

Saturday was the regular table top gaming infusion. It was interesting since the group was so small and made up of two players (my brother and Liz) who haven't gamed with us a whole bunch. The game went awesomely, though, which I think speaks to the abilities of the players who haven't played much. If they were really having a hard time of it, the game would've moved very slowly, but it didn't at all. Nice job by the new guys. ;)

And then Sunday I was a bum and spent all day playing Deathspank before going to sleep and having a dream where I spent the entire dream having difficulty going to sleep (there were 3 or 4 people over playing some game, and I wanted to join but knew I shouldn't because I had to be up early) and, when I finally got to sleep as the sun was rising in my dream, I woke up in reality. Not a very restful night as it turns out.

Other than Gears, I had quite a gaming tally this week. I played through and completed Puzzle Quest 2 (which was about 10 hours too long), Limbo (which my brother and I have spent the last day trying to interpret- anyone have a theory they'd like to share?), and Deathspank (which was so awesome and funny- yay for a The Giving Tree reference!). I've decided to return the Saboteur to Gamefly. I've had the game for 3 months now and I'm just not in the mood for it. What I do want to play, for some reason, is Lego Harry Potter. Well... I suppose the reason is my next complete will be my 30th and I can usually count on Lego games for a fairly easy 1k. ;)

One of these days I'll actually write a nice well thought out post on a single topic as opposed to this sort of scattershot "here's what my last week has been like" thing. I just find that when I do want to delve into a particular subject, I don't have the means to post and when I'm in the mood to just chronicle things, I have access. *shrug*
