Thursday/Work Rant
Before I scribble away about the weekend … Thursday. So I work for two departments (mostly, really 3 but the third rarely gives me work and it’s more of a timed deal … like this needs to go out on blah, etc). My primary role is working in the Registrar’s Office, registering students that are late etc., transcripts, dealing with graduation crap … so in the summer we tend to be on the quieter side since students can register online (it’s mid/late August we pick up again as people return).

My secondary role is working with Recruitment/Admissions. Process apps, get them ready for review, answer their questions, send out materials, etc. This you can imagine picks up over the summer as we prepare for fall enrollments. Well the head of this department is total spaz. She is always late with everything (yet when she needs something it has to be RIGHT NOW). Another coworker is waiting for a bunch of crap from her going on 2 months now… yeah.

Well Thursday, she asked the communications assistant to give her a hand with a 350 piece mailing. She asked around 1pm … and it involved sticking labels on shit, sticking letters/pamphlets and booklet in envelopes, and then sealing. Well by 3pm he was apparently going too slow for her taste so she comes and begs me to help him out and to keep it on the DL because she was supposed to have done this mailing THREE WEEKS ago … yes, three. And if the president saw them doing it today, she was gonna flip. Sure enough, 20 minutes into my helping, here comes the president “So do you guys need help? I really want this to go out today…” and she’s clearly NOT happy. Not that I blame her. So even with the President’s help we barely finished at clocking out time. I have no idea what she would have done if we hadn’t pitched in but the president was NOT happy at all.

I was so furious. This is the type of shit she does ALL the damn time. She waits to the last effin’ possible moment to do something, holds others back from doing their job, but whenever she needs a report or needs something done it has to be right that fucking second and everyone has to drop everything they’re doing to help her out. I cannot stand it. I like to be prepared. If I know something has to go out in a week and it requires a lot of work, I get to work on it … ugh. I just hate working for her. It’s such a frustrating situation. /endrant.

Friday/Weekend/WoW
Mom’s appointment Friday for the green card was fine … the GETTING there was of course all kinds of fuckery. Thankfully we left almost an hour before the appointment or else she would have been late (she made it with 10 minutes to spare). The GPS told us to take a turn and I thought it was at the light, so I turned at the light and then entered the plaza. Instead of looking TOWARD where the GPS originally said to turn, it was telling me our location was right THREE (guess the whole plaza was the #...but my brain sucks sooo yeah). So we drove around in circles until I decided to redo the original turn and lo-and-behold, we made it. I felt like an idiot cuz it really was just me not being more attentive (but I was tired/frustrated which isn’t a good combo).

She got a really cool guy who joked around with her (my mom is super short, 4’10”) .. and he accidently put in 5’8” (because we put in 58 inches since that is what was on her license). So we had a good laugh about that, and he just kept messing with her about her height, which was great (she’s a good sport). They told her it will take a whole YEAR to get the new one … which is insanity. I’m sure it’s mad back logged since I’m pretty sure they background check everyone now.

Afterward mom and I went and had lunch and since this place was in E. Hartford, it was a short distance from my brother’s job. So after we eat, we got him a sub and brought it to him (which he greatly appreciated since he didn’t bring lunch lol). I had shrimp pasta, and my mom had friend shrimp and chips, both came with a salad. It was all very good. Food pics below.

After visiting with him a little, we went food shopping then to his house to spend the weekend since it was a non-work weekend for him. Saturday I slept in mad late, which was fine and just played WoW like all day. Pretty much the same deal on Sunday. I did get in two drawings, but only photographed them today with today’s drawing, so below are three drawings.

My Paladin is level 106. I’ve been leveling her slow so I can work on reputations and loremaster, and pretty happy so far. I just want her to hit 110 already so I can finally work on the flying for Legion since that will take at least two months ugh. I wish they would just do it like the old days … fork over an absurd about of gold to get it… now it’s locked behind fifty different achievements, which are all a pain (mostly the ‘last one’ cuz it’s a rep grind and it takes forever to earn the rep). Oh well… she will get it eventually!

Drawing
Day 2 - Saturday - Was to draw an owl. I like how it came out.

Day 3 - Sunday - Was to draw a vase and flowers - I did not like how this one came out. I wasn’t feeling so great on Sunday, so that’s probably why.

Day 4 - Monday - Today’s was to draw a landscape. I am pretty happy with how today’s came out.
