Great Weekend

Friday

Other than the below snag, the day was pretty great. Started out really cloudy (as evidenced by my picture below), but turned out sunny and beautiful. All but three graduates showed up on time and made it out with the marshal. The stragglers had to run in from behind our tent and sneak into their seats. EVERY year, we have two or three that are never on time. RaWr.

The ceremony was long, so I ended up staying an hour more than I had planned, but it worked out. I get comp time so I just used it this morning and came in at 10am (which was nice).

By the time I got home, I was exhausted, so I showered, jumped into some flannel PJs (it got really cold out of nowhere), and pretty much was out like a light by 9pm LOL.

Saturday

I went and watched The Fate of the Furious with my good friend Andrea. It was at a theater I’d never been to, so I found myself driving in circles until I figured out the parking area was hidden in a nook (because of all construction wasn’t easy to see). Luckily I’d left early for that very reason lol.

The movie was pretty good. I think it was one of the better ones (and really only because of ONE scene haha). Of course it is your typical ‘okay that shit is so unbelievable’, but I am the type of person that takes a movie for what it is … entertainment. I am not there to grumble about the laws of physics and how 99% of shit in these movies are completely impossible. I rather enjoyed the movie and not ashamed to admit it.

I think Charlize Theron was an awesome bad guy (I love her though, so I might be biased). Jason Statham is hilarious, kick-ass and just … awesome. He might have been my favorite in this movie (and again, because of that ONE scene lmao). He can do serious and hilarious in the same breath and I love it. The others were their typical selves… Tyrese (Roman) his usually funny BUT not as funny as other movies. I really felt like he was completely pointless in this film (he probably had 2 actually funny lines-otherwise all he did was yell and bemoan everything). Ludacris and his hacker chick friend were okay …

We did welcome in Clint Eastwoods son, Scott, into the movie (his name literally was Little Nobody in the movie lol). He was good. I haven’t seen him in anything else, and he was a little annoying in this movie (but that was the whole point of his character, so he played it well) … may have to check some other films of his.

So yeah … overall I’d give it a 7 out of 10.

I got home and my mom’s flowers that I’d ordered had arrived! They did a good job. They looked quite pretty (and she now has a mug she can always use :D). She said she cried and almost didn’t get them because when the doorbell rang she thought it was the Jehovah’s Witness peeps that walk around here all the time, but then she saw the delivery people walking away with them and was like WAIT! LOL So I am glad she liked them.

They came with a small box of chocolates too that I forgot about (ordered them a month ago lol).

I took her to the store so we could buy a dessert for Sunday and then I took her out to eat at a small mom and pop’s near us as my treat for Mother’s Day. I had the Sole fish topped with lobster and spinach stuffing and layered in lobster sauce (it was SO delicious). My mother had the stuffed shrimp with a baked potato.

Got home and gave her the two shirts I bought her, which she loved (and wore one Sunday).

By the time we got home it was about 9PM. Watched some television, finished a book and then passed out!

Sunday

My brother (Nelson) and sister in law (Trisha) had us over on Sunday (along with most of Trisha’s family + my Godmother & uncle), to celebrate Mother’s Day. It was about 24 of us. We had a wonderful time hanging out, eating, laughing, talking and just enjoying our respective mothers/friends/family.

We hung out until about 8PM and it was really just a great way to wrap up with the weekend with everyone that I love the most.

So overall, it was a fantastic weekend.

In very random news… can someone PLEASE tell me how to make it so Instagram goes back to showing me the feed in order people posted? Now it shows me random images from random dates/times and I keep missing people’s posts because I am not going to go to individual people’s accounts (eff that shit). Crap like this makes me want to just get rid of all my social media crap. WHY mess with something that was perfectly fine?! RaWr :P
