I'm sitting out on our porch, in almost depression mode because vacation is almost over. Tomorrow is my last day ): Granted I only go back for two days and then have a three day weekend ...but still *pout*. I really need to win the lotto (: My help if I actually played it though ... huh? :D
So yeah, last 30ish hours ... sadface is on. It was a good vacation though. Lots of relaxation, a little 'going away' mixed in to make it feel like a vacation ... and returning still gives me summer hours at work for two more weeks so I cannot be TOO upset. Still, it sucks going back, that's for sure.
It was a nice day today. I was going to go to
Old Sturbridge Village, but I only woke up around noon, and I didn't feel like going by that time (maybe I'll go this weekend... or next). I went to bed around 6am after
finishing book #46 for the year ... which is getting close to my goal of 60 books for 2012. I may have to up it if I actually hit 55 by September.
Speaking of books, I have a very random question -- What is the 'shortest' book you will pay for? The book has to be at least 300 pages in the past, before I would even pick it up (unless it looked WAY too good to pass up and wasn't under 200 pages). I know I probably missed out on some good books, but if I am going to pay at least $7.99 for a book I want LOTS of pages to read :D
BUT, now that I have the Kindle App and have been finding a lot of books that are either free or $2.99 and under ... I've broken that 300 page rule and the lowest I think I got was 120 pages for free. So, I was just curious if I was the only out there like this? When I go buy paperbacks or hardcovers I still have the 300 page rule though ... Haha.
Anyway... I went with my dad to the glasses place his job uses so he can put in his order for his safety glasses (his job pays for new ones once a year). So I am sitting there and decide maybe I should get myself some since I am nearsighted. I rarely use glasses though but I really should be using them to drive ... especially when I'm going somewhere I've never been before (it's rare, but still...).
I ask the chick at the desk if I could get in to get my eyes checked and she tells me the doctor is not in. I ask when he would be and she tells me he is only in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and tomorrow is already booked. I stared at her dumbfounded... two days out of 7? Must be nice! Where can I get a job like that?! :D I am guessing he probably has his office elsewhere and only comes in to this place twice a week, but still.. I was surprised.
Guess I will have to go to Lens Crafters even though they can be a rip off. I'll have to find some coupons online or something haha. Though I have heard Sears does some good deals from time to time so Ill keep a lookout on them too. If I knew my actual prescription, I would just order them online but it's been about 10 years since I last went. Ahhhh well (:
That is the way of life ... doing lots we don't want to do to survive, with the occasional good time/do what we really want to do (:
