Casino / Beach

Annnnnd, we're home. It was a nice day and a half away. Before we left Tuesday, I met Trisha at Starbucks and we had a great time hanging out and chatting/laughing for two hours. There were these tiny birds (finches?) hoping around all over the place and one finally stopped long enough for me to snap a couple of photos (pictured below).

Then Danny got home around 8pm, and after he got his stuff together we headed out and drove down Route 2 towards Foxwoods Casino and Resort, but we passed it a bit to check-in first at the hotel we were going to stay in that night (it was the halfway point between the Casino and the beach the next morning).

We gambled on the slots and I lost my typical $20 LOL ... I dont think I have ever won. My dad, who usually never wins too, actually won himself $30! He was so cute, he was all excited. It was a fun night. We left around 1am, and I finally fell asleep sometime after 3am (I hate sleeping in a bed that is not mine lol).

Today's (Wednesday) weather was absolutely PERFECT. I know I say that a lot but it really was... It was such a great day for the beach. I like that beach because the waves get pretty big (by Connecticut standards, they're huge because our waves are blocked by Long Island so ours are teeny tiny). Misquamicut is a beach in Rhode Island, so its not like 3 hours away, but 1.5 isn't really worth the trip and that place got PACKED on a weekday, and the weekends it's 10x worse.

It was still a lot of fun. We ate at this seafood joint right across from where we were on the beach and it was pretty damn delicious. Then made our trek back home around 3pm -- stopped in briefly at Dairy Queen near home around 4:30pm for some ice cream which really hit the spot, and then got home and it was almost 5pm.

Of course, the beach tuckers you out, so after putting away some things, and hanging out for a little out back, I ended up completely passing out around 6:30pm ... and then woke up about 11 lol.

So far, this vacation has been pretty great ... a good mix of relaxation and some fun things to do. Tomorrow not much is happening since my mom/dad have their doctor's appointments throughout the day. I may stop by work, but only to say good-bye to the dean that is leaving. It's his last day, and he leaves at 1:30pm. I have to see though ... if I can get a chance between the doctors appointments.

Anyway... some photos. The first two are the photos I choose for Tuesday/Wednesday for the "project". The rest are photos of mostly today but a couple from Tuesday.

When we arrived it wasn't too packed.
