I'm sure everyone's already heard, since it's
EVERYWHERE. "BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Betrayal inside his al Qaeda in Iraq terror group led to success in a painstaking U.S.-led operation to kill Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the U.S. military said on Thursday." (Click on the word "everything" to read article).
So my question is: will this spur new hope in US to support the war? Or is it just one small good in a long battle of constant bad. I’m pretty sure Bush will use this now to boast about how well the war is going to progress from here on out. Suddenly, all of the lives that have been lost will fade away into the night because we’ve gotten one slight glimmer of hope. Of course, I’m not saying that this isn’t wonderful news. I just think people will begin to lose their anger they’ve had against the war. The problem is that terrorism will always exist. One bad leader is gone, but another one will sprout right back in his place. I’m sure there are many who are willing to die for the honor of his position [in their twisted warped minds]. All I can say is that although it is good news to have this scum bag off the planet, people will probably be getting way ahead of themselves. Everyone thought with the capture of Saddam that things were going to get better … they only got worse. Of course, I hope that with his death, better things will come for the innocents of Iraq. No one deserves to live in a war zone. Just my $.02 since the news of this is already all over the web.
Note to self: Never purchase a car from out of state ... at least not NY. My brother purchased a BMW over the weekend [picture below]. Apparently, the royally screwed him over, and basically got him to buy the car fraudulently [honestly dont know the WHOLE deal]. Anyway, my brother goes to his Financial Advisor, and the guy points it out to him. Then, they call the car company and tell them that due to the way the car was purchased, they had to void the contract and to return the car for my bro's money back.
Apparently, they agreed to this, but the actual car salesman was a real prick. Today Nelson went to drop the car off and pick up the old one, and he ended up having to call the cops [who unfortunately couldn't do anything]. Now they still owe my bro $2,000+ [only gave him $8,000 back] and apparently they're going to fed-ex a check. My bro thinks they're going to swindle him for that cash, so he's got a lawyer from his on call.
This is just so ridiculous to me. You can't even meet honest people at a BUSINESS. I was wondering if there was some type of way to report them? I told my brother to ask the lawyer, but I don't think he did. These guys can't keep getting away with stuff like this. I highly doubt that my brother is the first customer this has happened to. We're all so pissed off. My mom was nervous all day because of this, hoping that Nelson would be ok. I kept telling her that I highly doubted these guys would jump my brother...but then I figured if they can lie their way into a sale, and then fraudulently tell my brother something just to add another $10,000 onto the price, that they're capable of anything. Stuff like this really ticks me off. The little guy is always getting screwed over by these big corporations. They supposedly have all of this stuff out there to protect the consumer, but I'm honestly not seeing it. Ugh. So frustrated.
Anyway, here's what the car looked like. It's gone now, but I hope my bro gets the rest of his money back.
It's still raining. Forgot my umbrella today, which sucked in the morning. At least when I left work it was just a very light, barely noticeable drizzle. Tonight I plan on working on my essay for my Application for the Teaching Program. Yeah, I know ... I still haven't written that whore. Anyone want to volunteer to proof read it for me when I am done [if I ever am done]? It'd be greatly appreciated.
Tomorrow I get out at one so I need to head over to the bank and close my old savings account and order some extra checks. This tiny book they gave me will only last me two months. So cheap! Tomorrow is also Nelson and Patricia's prom! I better get lots of pictures
darkcldgrl or I'll hurt you! :) Hope you two have a blast!
Ah well. I need to go clean my room.
