God, it has been forever since I wrote, hasn't it? Actually, it's been a while since I connected with a lot of people.
School finished, and I immediately headed out to Toronto to visit my friend Kelly. She lives in York, a section of the city, and we were supposed to get together there to discuss directing Romeo and Juliet next year. We... didn't really discuss much. Admittedly, most of the time was spent watching Prison Break. I also got to explore Toronto with Kelly. It's a gorgeous city, just as nice as she likes to brag it is. We had a lot of good food and walked around a lot of the city. I also got to go to Stratford and see the Festival's production of West Side Story, go to the Jays vs. Yankees baseball game, and legally go to a bar and order a cosmo. That was really gratifying, lemme tell ya.
I got back Friday, and I've been keeping pretty busy since. I've been trying to clean my room and unpack all the stuff from school, but that's taking quite a while. The good news is that I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff, so I have more room. I've also been selling off books and DVDs I don't want. The other day I just about finished my Wendy costume for Connecticon. I just have to add the waist ribbon (which I need to purchase), finish the second sleeve, and hem the collar. After that, that whole costume will be done.
I also just took on a second job. All this week I've been working as an assistant in the pathology lab at Sturdy Memorial. All through this experience, I've been thinking that I should feel the being a doctor is my calling, but I still don't. It's a lot of fun though, and something I know very few people my age would ever get to do. Not to mention it pays $25 and hour. That doesn't hurt. Next week I'll start doing work at B&N again as well, so both those paychecks will be greatly appreciated. I need the money for Otakon and Connecticon.
I might have a section of a table at Otakon, shared with my homies of course, but I'm still waiting to hear about that. My parents are very EH about letting me go, but hell, I'm almost 20. I'm going with or without their permission, especially since I'm paying my way.
In other news: Star Trek. Saw it. Loved it. GO SEE IT NOW.
