I think I managed to take my mind off Darda, Jeria and the kids for a good few hours while I shot shit. Really got a hankerin' for booze, but I told Tal I was gonna quit, and even Jeria's expecting it. Everybody seems to want me to quit drinkin'.
It's something I've done for years, since before I even started sailing when the tribe would occasionally run into Dwarves or Goblins or whatever. My first taste I must've been sixteen and part of a hunting party. We ambushed some Alliance explorers and I punched some other kid in the face 'cause he had a flask and I just wanted the damn shiny thing. I was a bit surprised to find that there was something in the flask - shit that burned on the way down - and I found I liked the taste and sensation.
The heavy drinking started when I became a pirate and got steadily worse as we got more successful. When my ship went down and I thought I was the only survivor, well, then it got real bad and it was almost all I did for 'bout three years.
... I'd kill for a drink right now.
