the man who fell to earth

i thought that christmas eve was going to be insane at work. but it wasn't. actually, after 4, it was dead and boring.
christmas day we decided to celebrate after i got home from work. it was much busier than i thought it would be. there was actually a group of people outside at 10am waiting for us to open. do these people not have families!? this one guy asked if we had a "money machine". i said we do cash-back and he's all "what's that?" i asked if he had a debit and he was like "i have this??" and showed me a card i didn't understand. then i asked his sister if she had an optimum card and she started waving a bunch of cash around and saying "i have this". it was funny. kathryn bought a turkey for us for lunch and said that we could eat and drink whatever we want as long as we keep the upc's so michelle can put them into inventory. thomas ate so much that by lunch, we didn't have that privelege anymore. it was okay though because i had enough to eat at home. batteries were a big seller.

it sucked this year because our house is sort of out of everyones way and this year quite a few family came here. and i wasn't even there to enjoy most of it. but apparently i get triple pay? i'm okay with that i guess.
for christmas i got the usual things. i don't get clothes because i'm too picky. my favorite gift was what adam and my dad got me. a calvin and hobbes complete box set. it's very heavy. and very expensive. tears came to my eyes. it's not like i just read calvin and hobbes once and never look at the comics again. i've read all the books i have annually since i've started collecting them when i was 11. happiness.
after we had a game of poker. i don't really know how to play poker. i just bid until i see fit and if something goes in my favour than yay. my uncle peter is a much more serious player. so it was funny when the pot got really big and everyone thought he won. than my mom noticed i had the better hand and all the chips went to me. muhahahha. and that is how i win. then i got tired and couldn't stay up any longer. bummer.

boxing day wasn't busy at work either and i only did, like, 3 returns. weeiiirrd. i really wished that i was shopping.
yesterday i drove up to north bay. it's amazing how different the weather is just an hour north of here. it was completely white. that's one thing i hopelessly miss about north bay - white christmas'. not this disgusting brown we get every year. we went over to visit my favorite uncle and aunt. gary and sue. they're so flippin' funny. we decided we wanted greco's pizza for dinner (the best pizza in the world). there's two locations - lakeshore and downtown. gary called the downtown one to order. they put him on hold, so he hung up and called the lakeshore one. except he had actually just called the downtown one again. haaar.all i hear from the living room is "oh. is this downtown again?". this is what happens when i go there.
sue had gotten this 'recipes from around the world' book for christmas. my nana asked if they had any recipes from slovakia and sue goes "i don't know, i'll czech!" haaar. (note: we're czechloslovakian) laugh. laugh.  when i got home, i found that my uncle gerald and aunt janice had stopped in for a "light" lunch and had eaten all our stuffing and yummy desserts. those fucking cows. i'm so fucking pissed right now. turkey dinner leftovers are my favorite. rrrrrr. i'm so angered.

i saw flyerman. very interesting and extremely well done.
