Hair today, gone tomorrow.
I know that the tile is pretty cliche. But I don't care. Screw that.
My hair... is short again. Really short. Okay, not short like... standard boy haircut short, but about the length it was a year ago when I started growing it out. So, it's back to the beginning for me.
And... it's in layers. Which looked awful last time. It's not as bad this time, but it could look better, except I can't do it myself and I can't really describe what I want, so it's hard to get anyone else to fix it.
Lauren... my god how I hate her today.
Luie: "You're hair is really dead. I can cut it for you."
Me: "Okay, you can take off an inch or two."
Luie: "Let's go. I'll do it right now."
Me: "Okay."
So... in that conversation, did it say anywhere that SHE CAN'T CUT HAIR TO SAVE HER LIFE???? No, it didn't. She neglected to tell me that.
So she was snipping away, and I got up to look at it. Not only had she taken off like three inches on the left side... but she took off four on the right. So it was short... and uneven. And I looked ridiculous.
In comes my Ciocia Mary, Lauren's mom, to save the day. She's been cutting hair for a long time. She's not a professional, but she does a decent job.
Ciocia Mary: "I'm going to give you layers."
Me: "Please don't. I looked like a total idiot last time."
Ciocia Mary: "I won't make you look like an idiot."
Mom: "You're going to look like a fucking retard with your hair that short and all one length."
So I gave in. I've got the layers. It just needs a little adjusting. But I almost cried. Actually, when I got in the shower to wash the hair off, I did cry. My hair is gone. I spent a year growing it, and it's in the trash now. And, I don't even look better. If anything I look dopier.
According to my aunt, I'm not 17 anymore, I'm a professional now, and I need a more adult look. But what good is looking your age when you look doofy at the same time?
Maybe it'll all come out all right in the end. I'm going to Wal-Mart to get some clips and see what that does for me.
