This guy has the idea!

Reuters had this posted on their website:
MEXICO CITY, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Mexico's opposition leftists who claim electoral fraud voted on Saturday to declare losing candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador as "legitimate president," a symbolic move aides say reduces the chance of radical street protests.

Delegates at a huge open-air convention rejected a move to name Lopez Obrador head of a civil resistance campaign. Aides said the vote showed his supporters wanted to channel their opposition to conservative president-elect Felipe Calderon mostly through political means, rather than protests.

NPR had a clip about it here.

The BBC has a video about this convention, but I couldn't find a link for it. Just go to bbc.co.uk and do a search for Obrador.

Very interesting stuff. The main idea is that he lost the election by 0.56% of the vote. With allegations of tampering by Coca-Cola and the political party of Vincente Fox; with the political affiliations of the justices who confirmed Calderon's victory, there are serious problems down there. Obrador is officially the loser, but he seems to be organizing some SW33T protests. Now he has this going on and I guess he's being inaugurated in November. That's two weeks before Calderon gets inaugurated.
YEAH, two governments! I wonder where Obrador gets funding? I mean, he's living in a tent city in Mexico City. How does he get food and stuff? It's not like he can levy a tax on the peoples.
Maybe our country could learn a little something from his fight.
