(no subject)
So last night, Em and I went to the MC Frontalot show in Kalamazoo.
We had this terrific dinner at a restaurant (can't rememeber the name) with this great hippie/local vibe. Delicious food, excellent atmosphere. Loved it.
But then we went to see MC Frontalot, which has been one of my Top Ten Performances I Need to See In My Life. The trailer for his tour is here.
And it was a spectatular show. Em enjoyed it, I loved it, and it was all I ever really wanted. We got some songs we hadn't heard before, got to meet the Front when it was all over, and now I want to see another one of his shows. Or just another nerdcore show. Mentioned in the trailer is the Penny Arcade Expo. I found out about MC Frontalot and Optimus Rhymes from news of the Penny Arcade Expo, so maybe I should actually go this year. If I have time/money. Also big on the list is the Minibosses, who don't seem to leave Arizona much.
I need to see these guys!
Seriously, one of my best nights out in a long time. Splendiferous!!
(P.S. Can I just tell you about the guy there with a SNES cartridge for a belt buckle? Or the guy who came with his DAD? Or mini-Kaine? Or the guy who looked like a little-too-big Pete? There were some definite uber-nerds there. But then there were a couple other people there like me, which felt pretty sweet. I know I'm a nerd.... but there's a major threshold that I know I have not crossed yet. Like cartridge belt buckles.)
