friday night! bourbon shots! dangling three stories off the ground with cute ambiguously gay boys screaming at the top of my lungs! marines! pretty necklaces! passing out in cars and vomiting in casey's lap!
then came saturday. i'm pretty sure i had alcohol poisoning. didn't eat at all until sunday because i couldn't hold it down. couldn't even get out of bed until 8 on saturday night--also started my period, so was cramping, but b/c of the vomiting, could not take any pain medication. but i set out to do what i set out to do, then i did it. too bad i can't extend my passion for forgetting to the rest of my life.
i've applied for three jobs: editor at the dem-gaz (yeah right), assistant to the promotions director at the dem-gaz (more likely), and store manager at the library (perhaps). they're all pretty good jobs, hopefully i'll hear from them. i'm applying to a position at the heifer project tonite, and taking a practice GRE.
my dog is gorgeous and has already learned to fetch. my house is beautiful, and we'll be done painting in about a month.
i'm trying really hard to be happy, with mixed results. painted a really good (but also incredibly fucked up) baby with a gas mask on last night. smeared it with red, then realized i'm one big walking fucking cliche.
two books you must read! debi! jen! pay attention, you'll love them. they are:
1. Whores on the hill / Colleen Curran.
Pub info New York : Vintage Contemporaries, c2005.
2. The friend who got away : twenty women's true-life tales of friendships that blew up, burned out, or faded away / edited by Jenny Offill and Elissa Schappell ; introd. by Francine Prose.

good movie you must see:
The Ballad of Rambling Jack (about the protege of woody guthrie that taught bob dylan how to play the guitar. amazing doc.)
