Alright, a strange question for you. I'm trying to create a mathematical equation to quantify a statement my sister made, regarding her band. She writes:
We're hoping to be awesome enough to pull punters away from the djs and into the empty band room... But... You know... The increasingly overdressed crowd at the Ed lately... seems (ahem) less and less interested in live music, shall we say? If I was smrter I'd know how to express that in a mathematical formula.
What she's referring to is the fact that our local watering hole/band spot has become a bit of a scene for hipsters and scenesters, who are more concerned with paying a cover charge and hanging out in the beer garden, drinking $10 jugs of Sangria, rather than sitting in the band room and watching.. y'know.. the bands they paid to see!
I've tried to turn that fact into some kind of neat looking mathematical equation, but because I failed miserably at maths, I can't quite write up something that looks appropriately mathy to amuse my dear sister.
Can anyone quantify the increase of scenesters and hipsters and decrease of people paying to see the bands in lieu of hanging out in the beer garden into some kind of hilarious equation?
Thanks in advance!
