Meeting more of Elijah's friends, and some of their friends, and some entirely new friends, all of whom are AWESOME, is AWESOME.
MATH IS AWESOME.
It feels so good to have finally given a talk on the 'gons. A huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I even gave myself permission, the next morning, to be completely sniped by an ergodic theory talk. Lunch got cold. Dinner got left on its plate. Oh how wonderful it feels!
Yesterday afternoon, Elijah and I got into a conversation with an R.M. who'd wandered into the Student Hospitality room. I started telling him about my research. He asked completely seriously when I was done, "So, when do you go up for tenure?"
