Ah, back to the good stuff. Fortunately, I missed most of NCIS before TAR started. Plus, my ham biscuits are almost done.

Man, aside from the tragic ending, this was an awesome episode. By the end, I was hoping Meredith and Gretchen would get eliminated, not because I don't like them--they've really grown on me a lot--but because I can see that they're starting to get really worn down, and I just don't see them lasting to the end, whereas all the other teams still seem pretty energetic, and I could see any one of them winning.

I was so incredibly impressed with Uchenna and Joyce (particularly Uchenna) at the detour. They had some serious balancing skills. I loved how everyone else was struggling like crazy, and then Uchenna just popped that basket of corn on his head and practically ran to the finish. Way to kick some ass, man.

I knew immediately that they were in trouble for not taking the marker post, though. The editing was pretty clear, because they had Joyce reading the clue very clearly right as Uchenna went back and grabbed the flag, and then the shot kind of lingered on the post, to make sure we all saw that he didn't follow the instructions. And seriously, people: READ THE CLUE CAREFULLY. This kind of thing shouldn't be happening. Read the directions, folks; you should've learned that back in elementary school.

Brian and Greg were hilarious putting on their swim trunks in hopes of a NEL. I would've loved if that had happened (of course, like you, I'd like to have all these same folks for the rest of the race), but even though they got eliminated, at least they went out in style. I love those guys.

Still, funniest moment of the race goes to Lynn and Alex when they came up to the mat after having to get replacement cars twice and choosing the wrong person for the roadblock.
Phil: Lynn and Alex, you are team number four.
Lynn and Alex (in perfect unison): WHAT?!?!
That cracked me up. They, like almost everyone else, are growing on me weekly. This week, they were absolutely charming. And Alex remains incredibly cute. Yay, Lynn and Alex.

Seriously, I don't know what to do. I like everyone. There are problems I have with some people--notably Lynn and Rob, who both can be extremely obnoxious at times--but I'm really enjoying every team, and I think they're all competent racers and fun to watch. I don't want anyone to go. It's going to make all of the eliminations very frustrating. This is unprecedented, and a little weird, but I'm sure enjoying it. Much better to like everyone than to hate almost everyone.
