Ok, not replying to the comment for hopefully obvious reasons, but... huh? The anonymous comment above really does make negative sense.

And I thank you for pointing it out, as my spam filter had caught the notification.

It's a spam bot, it's programmed to comment on any comment boxes it finds, and leave a link in the 'name' part of a standard blog comment box. As LJ doesn't have standard comments, it instead just leaves a blank entry. Not that it would help, as anon's can't leave links on LJ anyway.

I'll IP trace it, but odds are it was a ghosted machine that some poor mook doesn't even know is loaded with bots and spyware.

Ah-ha! Someone else who reads Alastair Reynolds! I bought Century Rain when I was in Taunton a while ago. I remember reading Revelation Space when I should have been revising for my A-Levels...

Century Rain is cool, very nice concepts in it, and his writing has improved substantially.

I do wonder at the love-in in the reviews though, he reviews Grimwood in The Guardian, and Grimwood reviews him in the Guardian. Hmm, both positive. Still, I like both, so can't complain.

Damn you I had a couple of books on my to buy list already- now I have more!!!

Have to finish reading a song of ice and fire first though and then sulk as the series isn't finished yet.

Was wondering if your next trip away could be to reading?
