spring break 07
wow, haven't touched this in a while
Finals week started on saturday for me, the day right after the last day of lecture. Computer Science final was fun, 2 hours of testing followed by 3 hours of final project tweaking = 5 hour final. I knew upper divs are demanding but this is going a little overboard.
Some guys made DDR as their final project. You have to hit the right buttons to match the corresponding pattern shown on the LED lights. Depending on how accurate it is a different message will display on the 7-segment displays. You can even turn up the speed.
You know what our final project was? You enter in a number, then the player has to guess the number. That extra three hours was spent making a random number generator so you can skip the first step and start playing right away. "Playing" is a bad word to describe it... So anyways I spent that week living in the ORL Office with Nick, Franklin and some other random people. I thought I owned the Discrete Structures final and ended up doing otherwise... and the Differential Equations final kicked my ass, though I don't know my grade.
Undie Run was on Wednesday, thousands of half naked kids running around the dorms and campus in freezing weather. Midnight Yell every day at midnight, but didn't participate, the RA's will write you up in a heartbeat.
So, what happened over break so far...
Saturday
I think I actually slept in, just relaxed and bummed around all day
Sunday
Picked up Karen around 11 I think, then spent like half an hour trying to find where the British girl lives. Then parked on the side of the freeway in order for Kevin, Leslie, Kathleen and Eric to meet up, it was like some sort of funeral procession almost. Then spent 2 hours circling around gg park looking for the Rock Slide / Crazy Monkey Bars, and when we get there the area has been fenced in, apparently because it's too dangerous... hung out around there a bit, went to quickly's after
Monday
Had to go to Kaiser in the morning to see an ENT specialist. I've had this weird thing on the back of my right ear for a few years now, started as a cut and now it's a small bump, they can either chop it off or I can put on this cream and it should go away. I think the cream is bullshit, but I don't want to lose my right ear lobe... Had to go see Dr. Rich in the afternoon, count is up a bit this time...
Tuesday
Jack's two friends from ucla came up, brought them on a tour of SF pretty much. Went to Los Taquerios (sp?), best Mexican food in SF I've been told, then drove downtown to Westfield, the new area they opened up connected to SF shopping center. Damn it's nice, especially the lounge at the top, I could just lay there and sleep all day. Shopped around that area, then drove to JTown, then went to Ichiraku on Geary, where they give you so much free food. I went over the summer but I'd forgotten just how much they give you. Free miso/seaweed/edamame when you're still ordering, then free salmon while you're waiting for your dishes, then free ice cream for dessert. After that we drove to Pier39, walked around a bit.. felt really bad cause the girls treated us out to dinner, and I had just met them, so I bought them some souveneirs... I'll have to treat them out down in LA when we get back haha
Wednesday
Lunch at Red Robbin with Brian, Kyle, Rosli, Connie, Christina, Leslie and Kevin. Long lunch... I had to leave to send this thing off on ebay. So I've been cleaning my room, pretty much throwing everything out, and I decide to sell these books. Well the box I used to pack them is pretty fucking huge, so I had to tape together 2 Trader Joe's bags to use as wrapping. Actually I didn't even tape them together, I turned them inside out, then taped each individually to the box. I think I had this conversation with Kyle.. it's like one of those one-piece pajamas with the ass flap. Only without the ass flap. There's a little bald spot on the bottom of the package, where you can see "Crock Pot".
Anyways BARTed downtown with Connie, Rosli and Kyle to meet up with Yam and her friend (My Wang? I have no idea if she was bsing me or not) shopped around Westfield area again, BARTed back in the evening, stopped by Target then headed home
Today
Drove to Foster City to meet up with Joce, Kelly and Howard for some Taiwanese food by the Bay. Haven't had real Taiwanese food in a while, it was a good meal. The shore there is so weird, almost completely covered in shells and rocks. Drove over to San Mateo for some Quickly's, then started playing chinese chess with Howard until I realized it was already 3:15, and my appt. at A++ is 3:30... made it back to SF in like 10-15 min, but heavy traffic on 19th, didn't get to Geary area until around 4.
The only things left to do for break are:
- Fuji's
- Thunder Valley / Jackson
- Reign Over Me
- NCAA Final Four
I was going to go to Fuji's then Jackson on Friday a few hours ago with Jack Jar and Chris, til Jack decided to get lazy and not drive... now I think I'm going to Belmont to eat at Indulge. I still need to head up to the Sac area though, really need money. Don't think I wrote about it here, but Casino Night happened a month ago, pics on facebook, long story short turned $200-600 into $2800 at the end of the night, along with Connor's $5200 for a total of $8000. Then again real casino's use like 6 decks, counting is harder... Need to practice.
I think I pissed someone off, someone's not picking up their cell phone or responding to text msgs... I really hope she's still alive, cause I just realized if she died I'd have no way of knowing.
I'm also thinking of picking up Muy Thai again. Found my old wraps, might take classes at Wooden. Break is too craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy
