Mardi Gras Madness
WEEEE!
Back from crazy Mardi Gras weekend. Technically, Mardi gras is today but for little busy bee worker me, I had to celebrate it over the weekend. As has become tradition, we went to New Orleans. This year since Lij wasn't here, we just went to Endymion parade on Saturday night. Crappy Taylor Hicks was the king....Amanda flipped him off when he drove by and we both screamed, "SCREW YOU!" Unfortunately, he did not see us. We caught some beads and I got hit in the face by two strings. It hurt. And, it wasn't a sweet kind of hurt like the time Elijah hit me in the face with beads.
But, we had fun, nonetheless. Yet, best of all, we made a random decision to leave New Orleans and head straight to Grand Isle! We didn't get there till super late and we had nothing with us but the 'clothes on our backs.' We found the secret key and got into the new camp and proceeded to have the best time ever. Grand Isle Mardi Gras is better than I ever remembered. The people are crazy and most of the floats are just trucks hauling boats with decorations on them. Crazy dancing guys walked the streets and kissed us....cops told us to flash our breasts...drunk woman gave Matthew a pair of thongs. We caught more than anyone else there and had the best time! I love the craziness of those people.
Of course, all of this meant I drove 8 thousand hours this weekend but it was worth it. Even though this was a Lij-less Mardi Gras, the adventures sorta made up for it. And, heck yes, I know he will be there next year.
