busy me

Anyone up for The International Noise Conspiracy at the Beat Kitchen tomorrow night? I have an extra ticket. Starts at 7pm, they play with Circa Survive and Nightmare of You. I plan on getting there around 8:30.

I also have an extra ticket for Death Cab for Cutie, Hot Hot Heat, and the Psychedelic Furs at Aragon Ballroom on Saturday night. That show starts at 7pm and I think I'll go around then. I'm not as packed on Saturday as I am Friday night.

So yeah, let me know by phone if you're interested, cause my computer is screwed right now...a new program killed it, which is sad and dumb. It is at the doctor's right now though trying to be healed. We shall all be healed. Yes. Anyway, phone: three 1 two, nine 0 nine, 1 1 zero four. I also enjoy text messages, which you can send on livejournal, or from your handheld phone-like mechanism.

I have been drinking too much lately, methinks. I think I am becoming obnoxious when I drink, and that's not a good thing. So I think I'm going to lay off for a while. I will have a couple drinks socially but no getting drunk for a while. Going home to Tennessee next Tuesday should help that anyway. I used to drink very rarely, but now I have such great new(ish) friends that we're always having fun of some kind.

I have realized lately when meeting new people of the indie rock variety that a lot of boys whom I find attractive are kind of shiftless layabouts. They are content to work in a bicycle shop or bar their whole life. Or at least, for the forseeable future. That's disheartening. I guess as I sit in reach of obtaining my masters degree, I want those people to be so passionate about what they want to do with their lives.

And for a true update, Bill never called. However the group does continue to go to Delilah's every Monday night around 9pm. It should be happening this Monday as well. Anyone is welcome, see above phone number. A name was never really decided on. The winners of the poll were:

M-Team
The Mondays
The Happy Mondays

...and then someone said "Team Mayhem" to me at work and I thought that was cute. I think just calling the evening "Happy Monday" would be kind of nice...like Black Friday or Ash Wednesday...like a whole day of happy hour. Of course M-Team was my original favorite. Argh, I have no idea.

My birthday came and went. It was December 3rd. It was a weekend of fun really. I got some good presents and I appreciated my wonderful friends. It's not as weird as I thought it would be to be 26 years old.

People have been calling me "hun," "honey," "sweetie," and "dear" a lot lately. I find it odd. I mean, I'm always smiling, but I never heard it this much before. I kind of like it, cause it's means I'm cute and youngish, right? But it's just unusual. The woman who took my money at carryout today called me dear, and then the cook there has called me honey the last two times he talked to me. The guy in the Music Department at Columbia that I have to call a lot has taken to saying "thanks hun" at the end of the phone call. Yeah okay, so I like it. But that doesn't make it less weird.

My Friday is going to kill me:
9-5 Work at MCA
6-8 Threadless dinner
8-? Skipping Rachel's birthday party (sad)
8:30 - 11:30 Skipping Threadless party
8:30ish International Noise Conspiracy at the Beat Kitchen (starts at 7pm)

Then I will probably meet back up with friends or a friend after the concert, to try and see more people before I leave Tuesday.

Oh, and I need an new icon with my new red bangs.
