X (in which there is defeat)

[Voice]

[The voice is weaker than usual, but it's also got a little echo of inhumanity in it. It also sounds much, much older than usual. The picture isn't picking up anything, but some rustling leaves.

The time of this voice post is actually a hour or so before sunrise, so here's to hoping for some night owls]...Someone come help an old lady ( Read more... )

she back, going to need blood, no one knew she was gone

Mrs. Marker, where are you?! Is everything all right?!

'M in a tight spot, boyo. [she pauses and seems to whisper to something or someone, and then there's the sound of rapidly flapping wings]

I got a bat which'll lead you. Y'know it's mine if it has bright red eyes.

All right. Hang on, Mrs. Marker.

[Action]

[Guy isn't outside long before a bat with red eyes flaps up and squeaks for him to follow, which he does, straight to Elda herself.]

[Unusual for a returnee, Elda isn't bleeding at all. She doesn't even look that injured sans for some cuts healing up and the fact one of her shoulders looks like it might be dislocated.

Rather, the real notable thing of this clearing in the woods near the mountains she's in is how old she looks now. She looks older than a human should be able to age, as if a hint of her real age were showing. As guy shows up she looks at him with eyes that looks both thankful and... hungry]

Damn, you smell good. [That voice sounds so aged now]

[Guy is fairly certain she's not talking "that's a nice brand of cologne" kind of smell-good. He stops a little short -shocked at her appearance, also- before cautiously stepping forward.]

...um, thank you. Mrs. Marker, what happened to you?

I got taken.

[By the Malnosso. Please note even though the body is much older looking the eyes are as sharp as ever]

[Guy purses his lips and moves to her side, taking to a knee and reaching out an arm for her to take and support herself with, the other going around her shoulders.] Do you need me to carry you?

[EVIL SMIRK] That or you could give me a good meal.

[JUMPING BACK.] Mrs. Marker, I'd be more than willing to get you something from the bar, but I'd prefer you didn't use me for your dinner.

Bah, stingy. Servin' a cocktail to an injured woman.

[Snort and then a wave] Fine, I'll try to hold back but at least get me indoors afore sunrise.

I'm sorry. [Guy scratches his hair sheepishly before moving to pick her up again, a little nervous for several reasons.] I mean, as long as I don't die I suppose I would offer, but I know Asch and Luke would worry like nothing before and I really don't want to do that to them.

Die? Jeez what is it with you humans and that legend? [Either way, she's going to weakly wrap one of her (now very aged and shriveled) arms around his neck to brace herself a little better. Damn it's been a long time since she was carried like this...]

Actually, I've never heard any legends regarding vampires; just that in my experience, usually parting with one's blood ends in mortal wounding or death. [Guy's awfully chipper, but he's a little proud of himself for not freaking out about carrying a girl. Of course, this is a crisis situation, so.]

[Elda sighs into her shirt there and then mutters--] It's just a quick transaction. We usually erase you people's memories anyway.

[Guy ponders this for a bit, doing his best to make sure he doesn't jostle her more than necessary before-] Is there a way you can do that without erasing someone's memories?

[A pause, and then with a defeated sight--] Yeah, but you won't want me to bite you. Actually, I don't want to bite you.
